Hello to all our new and existing followers 😊
We are so looking forward to creating some magic together between the 11th - 18th of March 2023. We have the most rewarding package in store for you in our upcoming retreat.
Our goal with every retreat is to create a holistic environment for you to reset your mind and body and to leave us feeling completely rejuvenated.
There will be time to reflect on yourself and the day that's passed, time to connect with our teachers, and moments of complete and utter relaxation. We'll provide you with moments for outdoor adventure and moments of calm both indoors and in nature. And of course, your days will be fueled with the most delicious and nutrient-packed meals and drinks. Remember, you can tailor your retreat with us for either a more restful experience or a more adventurous one.
We have a variety of different accommodation types available which are booked on a first-come-first-served basis. We would like to remind you that we only have 14 spaces available per retreat so it is essential to get in touch with us as soon as you can to book your spot and secure your preferred accommodation.
The last day to get bookings in will be the 11th of February 2023.

Another way we can look at spring cleaning our lives is by paying more attention to our diet. In our fast-paced lives, it is sometimes difficult to get in a balanced meal for every meal.
Here are some ways we can make that a realistic goal:
🍏 Plan ahead - Plan your meals and snacks for the week and get the groceries you need.
🍏 Cook nutrient-rich food - You'll stay satisfied for longer and will be less inclined to crave junk food.
🍏 Cook in batches - Cook food in bulk that can be portioned and stored in the fridge, freezer, or pantry.
🍏 Have simple snacks - If you don't have time, pack snacks that are quick to make rather than not packing anything.
🍏 Make smoothies - You can pre-pack the fruit and veg you want in your smoothie and take it out of the freezer as needed.

Have you ever stopped for a moment to pay attention to your breathing? Do you breathe using your chest or do you use your whole diaphragm? Did you know there was a difference?
For most of us, we only use our chest to breathe which means we are taking very shallow breaths. We use this type of breathing when we are stressed or anxious which means we aren't oxygenating our body sufficiently.
Pay attention to how you breathe when you're relaxed vs. when you're stressed. Practising deep breathing that causes your abdomen to rise and fall regularly can help you consciously shift to this type of breathing when you are in a stressed state.

Staying hydrated during the colder months can be such a challenge. Who wants to drink something cold in cold weather, am I right?
There are so many reasons that our body needs to be hydrated though - it flushes out toxins, keeps our joints lubricated, delivers nutrients to our cells, and helps boost our immune system.
Switching to hot drinks like tea or hot water with lemon, crushed ginger, and honey helps you stay hydrated without the chill factor.

So with spring upon us let's look at 5 ways we can spring clean the mind 🧠

1. Get enough sleep - A proper night's rest will help improve memory, you'll handle stress better, and you'll think faster.
2. Move your body - Cognitive abilities are increased, your focus is improved and it helps stabilise your emotions.
3. Good nutrition - Getting a balanced diet improves the formation of neurons and helps your brain retain the information we've learned.
4. Meditation - It lowers stress, improves your memory, and decreases insomnia.
5. Manage stress - Stress causes our body's pH to become more acidic which in turn makes us more susceptible to infection and chronic illness.

Most people spring clean their homes and use the opportunity to get rid of clutter around them but not very often do we hear of people spring cleaning themselves as humans. After all the exciting news about our upcoming retreat we got to share with you today, here is the short and sweet info you need to know in case you missed it...

Dates: 11-18th of March 2023 (4 or 7-day retreat options)
Location: Sea Whisper Guesthouse, Jeffrey's Bay, South Africa
Closing date for bookings: 11 February 2023

Please keep in mind that we only accept 14 guests per retreat so space is limited and it is therefore essential to get your spot booked as soon as possible. If you haven't done so already, please don't forget to sign up for our mailing list on our website so we can keep you in the loop.
