🌱🥒 BABY MARROWS – FAST GROWTH, BIG HARVEST! 🥒🌱

Did you know that baby marrows are one of the fastest vegetables you can plant in your garden? With the right preparation, you can start harvesting in approximately 45 days! 🤩

But a good harvest begins long before you pick the first baby marrow…

🌿 Healthy soil
💧 Deep watering
☀️ Enough sunlight
🌾 A good ground cover
✂️ And regular picking!

With the right growing conditions, a strong baby marrow plant can produce an average of up to 5 fruits per week. 🌱

But look out for two major challenges: powdery mildew and fruit flies. By managing your plants wisely and allowing the fruits to develop out of the fruit flies’ reach, you can better protect your harvest.

🥒 AND REMEMBER: THE MORE REGULARLY YOU PICK, THE MORE YOU HARVEST!

Don’t let your baby marrows grow too large on the plant. Pick regularly to encourage the plant to keep producing.

🌱 Plant smart. Water deeply. Pick regularly. Harvest more!

💜🌿 METHODS TO GET MORE AGAPANTHUS FLOWERS 🌿💜

Would you like an abundance of beautiful Agapanthus flowers in your garden this season? 💜🤍

Your Agapanthus plants are now starting to focus their energy on flower formation – which means now is the perfect time to give them a little extra attention! 🌱

To develop strong plants and an abundance of flowers, your Agapanthus needs the right care and nutrition. Without the necessary support, the plant’s flowering potential can decrease year after year.

💜 NOT ENOUGH FLOWERS?

If your Agapanthus isn’t producing an abundance of flowers, send me photos of both your soil and your plants. I can then create a personalised care plan for your plants. 🌿

🌱🌸 WHAT TO PLANT IN SEPTEMBER 2026 🌸🌱

September is seed-planting time! 🌱
September is the time of year when many seeds begin to germinate more easily, as the earth provides that extra energy that encourages new growth. ☀️🌿

But don’t let the warmer days fool you! ❄️
We can still experience cold nights, frost and even snow.
👉 So don’t plant your seeds directly into the garden just yet.
Rather sow your seeds in trays or containers that can be brought indoors during cold nights.

🌿 PREPARE YOUR VEGETABLE GARDEN SOIL NOW!
Now is the ideal time to prepare the soil in your vegetable garden, allowing the compost, minerals and soil to “marry” – as the Amish saying goes. 🌱

With the right soil preparation, you can help your plants become more resilient to the drought and high temperatures predicted for 2026.

SOIL TEMPERATURE AND PLANT GROWTH

If your soil temperature is not between 12–18°C or higher, summer vegetables such as sweet peppers, cucumbers and tomatoes will grow much more slowly.

The growth of sweet peppers and eggplants can become completely stagnant at these low temperatures.

Soil temperatures above 18°C can help these plants grow up to twice as fast as they do in lower temperatures.

🌡️ Have you measured your soil temperature yet?

Let us know in the comments what your soil temperature is! 🌱

LAWN TIPS FOR A BEAUTIFUL SPRING LAWN! 🌿☀️

The worst of the cold is over! The sun is getting warmer every day – and now is the perfect time to wake your lawn from its winter dormancy! 🌿
START WITH HEALTHY SOIL

First, break up soil compaction. Create oxygen channels using a garden fork or “spike machine,” and then apply COMPOST EXTRACT WATER to stimulate soil life.

Do you have bare patches where the grass roots are not growing properly?

👉 Apply EARTHWORM COMPOST and sow new grass seed in early September into the looser, healthier soil.

💧 WATER DEEPLY – FEED THE ROOTS
Water your lawn deeply and then apply GRASS ENERGIZER.

This helps to:
🌱 Strengthen the root system

🌱 Feed the soil with important minerals

🌱 Support healthy growth – without forcing the grass to grow too quickly.

HELP YOUR SPINACH GROW STRONGER:

🌱 Grow a deeper root system
Help the plant develop deeper roots so that it has better access to moisture in the soil.

💧 Water less frequently, but more deeply
Allow the water to pe*****te deeper into the soil rather than frequently wetting only the topsoil.

🌾 Protect the soil from heat
Use a light-coloured ground cover or mulch to keep heat away from the plant’s surface roots and help retain moisture.

🌿 Avoid using too much high-nitrogen fertiliser
Excessive nitrogen can encourage soft, rapid growth, which may make plants more susceptible to problems.

🥛 Fresh milk as a natural aid
Using fresh milk can support beneficial Lactobacillus bacteria and is traditionally used as part of an approach to help improve plants’ resistance to drought stress.

🌱 STRONG ROOTS = STRONGER SPINACH!
Give your spinach the right soil conditions, deep watering and protection from the heat – and help your plants grow stronger through hot, dry conditions.
