Social media users are reportedly expressing willingness to contribute money towards the bail application of a former Boxer Superstore employee accused of fatally shooting three female managers at the retailer’s eShowe branch in KwaZulu-Natal if the suspect is arrested.

Social media users say they share the same pain of being mistreated at the workplace, especially at supermarkets. Some say the employee might have been subjected to workplace bullying to resort to such measures.

The deadly shooting occurred on Saturday, 10 October 2026, during an internal disciplinary process at the store.

Police have confirmed that the suspect allegedly produced a fi***rm and shot three people, who were declared dead at the scene.

Reports indicate that the former employee was facing a disciplinary hearing linked to his employment. However, the circumstances surrounding the dispute and the motive for the killings remain subject to investigation.

The reported willingness of some members of the public to contribute towards his legal costs has sparked debate about the incident, workplace disputes and the public's reaction to violent crime.

The killings have devastated the victims’ families and colleagues. Boxer Superstores has expressed condolences to the families and said it is providing support to those affected while cooperating with the South African Police Service.

Police were still searching for the suspect, and no confirmed arrest or bail proceedings had been reported in the sources consulted.

Schoolboy dies after a dog attack in Msholozi, Nelspruit

A boy walking home from school with two friends was mauled by a dog in Msholozi, Nelspruit, at about 14:45 on Monday, 12 October 2026. The dog came out of a yard whose gate had been left open.

His two friends managed to run and went to call his mother. When she reached the scene, neighbours were already waiting for an ambulance. She found her son badly injured, his shirt covered in blood.

A private car rushed him to hospital. Doctors tried to save him for eight hours. He died there.

A case has been opened. No one has been arrested.
