Today we recognise World Malaria Day - a moment to pause and reflect on a disease that still affects millions of lives across the globe, particularly within our own communities.
Malaria is preventable and treatable, yet it continues to place a heavy burden on families and healthcare systems. Awareness remains one of our strongest tools in the fight against it, and even small actions can make a meaningful difference.
Protect yourself and your loved ones by:
• Using insect repellent regularly
• Sleeping under mosquito nets where possible
• Eliminating standing water around your home
• Seeking medical attention early if symptoms appear (fever, chills, headaches)
Together, through education, prevention, and early intervention, we can move closer to a malaria-free future.
Let’s stand united in protecting our communities.
