JANUARY IS SUNSMART SKIN CANCER AWARENESS MONTH.

Sun Protection Habits:

1. Seek Shade: Especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. when UV rays are strongest.
2. Cover Up: Wear wide-brimmed hats, sunglasses (UV400), and tightly woven or dark clothing.
3. Use Sunscreen: Apply broad-spectrum (UVA/UVB) SPF 30 or higher generously every two hours, or after swimming/sweating, even on cloudy days.

Lifestyle & Diet

1. Ditch Tanning Beds: Artificial UV from tanning beds significantly increases skin cancer risk.
2. Eat Antioxidants: Include foods rich in Vitamins C, E, A, zinc, and omega-3s, found in fruits, veggies, and whole foods.
3. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water. Atleast drink 2 litres of water daily.
