🐾 One Step. One Kilometer. One Huge Heart. 🧡

Only 34 days to go before Ernestia Brummer stands at the start line of her very first Comrades Marathon on 14 June 2026.

Not for medals.
Not for glory.
But for cats who never got the easy version of life.

For the abandoned.
The injured.
The forgotten.
The souls waiting at Uitkomst Sanctuary and through Harties Feral Cat Rescue for safety, food, medical care, warmth… and a second chance.

This year’s Comrades theme is Ska Fela Moya — a beautiful isiZulu expression often understood as:
✨ “Run with spirit.”
✨ “Let your soul carry you.”
✨ “Give everything that lives inside you.”

And honestly… that is exactly what Ernestia is doing.

Anyone who knows Comrades knows this is no ordinary race.
This year's 85.777km asks questions of your body, your mind, your spirit. Somewhere along those long roads, the excitement fades and only heart carries you forward.

Every hill climbed.
Every aching step.
Every sunrise training run.
All for the love of cats. 🐈🧡

You can support her journey by pledging:
🐾 any amount per kilometer
or
🐾 a minimum of R5 per kilometer
