Kynoch Fertilizer is a leading importer, blender and retailer of a complete range of granular, liquid and speciality fertilizers in Southern Africa (including South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana and the DRC). Kynoch operates warehouses as well as import and blending facilities in all the major ports in the Southern Africa Region and a number of

inland locations. Kynoch is the exclusive distributor of globally proven Agrotain® nitrogen stabilisers supplied by Koch Industries as well as a select range of Yara International premium products. To complete the full range of plant nutrition requirements, other fertilizer raw materials, products and enhancers are sourced locally and internationally. The Kynoch brand has been part of agriculture in Southern Africa for more than 100 years. During 2014 Kynoch became a member of Export Trading Group (ETG), a multinational operating in Africa for more than 30 years.

TUESDAY TIP | Get the most from your KynoKelp® application

The right product delivers its best results when it is applied at the right time and mixed correctly.

For optimal application conditions, KynoKelp® should preferably be applied during the early morning or late afternoon, when temperatures are generally cooler and evaporation is reduced.

Planning to tank-mix? Keep these three points in mind:

▪️ Always conduct a miscibility test before mixing KynoKelp® with other fertilisers. This helps identify possible compatibility problems before filling the spray tank.

▪️ Do not exceed a concentration of 2%—that is 2 L of KynoKelp® per 100 L of spray mixture.

▪️ Follow the approved application rate for the specific crop, growth stage and field conditions.

Application timing, crop condition and the desired response all play a role in determining the correct programme. When in doubt, speak to a Kynoch agriculturalist for a crop-specific recommendation.

PRODUCT FOCUS | KynoKelp®

Stronger crops start with stronger roots.

KynoKelp® is a natural seaweed suspension made from Ecklonia maxima, which grows along Southern Africa’s Atlantic coastline. Containing 98% seaweed extract, it can be applied to the leaves or roots of the plant.

KynoKelp® encourages root development, helping crops absorb water and nutrients more effectively. It is especially useful during establishment, active growth and periods when environmental stress may restrict root development.

For soybeans, the recommended application is:

▪️ 4 L/ha at the third trifoliate stage
▪️ Follow with 2 L/ha 14 days later

For best results, apply KynoKelp® during the early morning or late afternoon. When mixing it with other fertilisers, always conduct a miscibility test first and do not exceed 2 L per 100 L of spray mixture.

KynoKelp® works best as part of a complete, crop-specific nutritional program. Speak to a Kynoch agriculturalist for advice on the correct timing and application for your crop.
