A glimpse into Skukuza's past.

SAR Class 24 No. 3638, built in 1949 by North British (works no. 26350), began its Journey on a short stretch of rail in Skukuza. Its final destination? The old train platform, now part of the Kruger Station Precinct (formerly the Selati Train Restaurant).

Accompanied by coaches dating back to 1924, this locomotive is more than steel and wheels - it's a living tribute to the Selati Railway Line. From the 1890s gold rush to railway scandals and the line's role in shaping the region, No. 3638 has witnessed it all.
