Never-ending fight

The Fight Between Me and Me

I am standing in a boxing ring.

The fight is not against another man.

The fight is between me and me.

Red blood stains on the white canvas tell the story of the battle’s intensity. Every mark is evidence of punches thrown, wounds received, and rounds survived.

The bell rings.

But there is no referee to stop the fight.

One moment, one version of me is on the floor.

The next moment, the other.

Every time one of me is knocked down, the other shouts:

“Get up! Get up and fight!”

Through swollen eyes and cut lips, two determined blue eyes lock onto each other.

Neither wants to quit.

Neither is willing to surrender.

One represents comfort.
The other represents growth.

One wants excuses.
The other demands discipline.

One seeks ease.
The other pursues purpose.

Every day they meet in the ring.

Every day they trade blows.

And every day, only one leaves stronger.

The greatest battle of a man’s life is rarely against the world.

It is against the man he is today and the man he knows he must become.

The fight is not over.

The bell is still ringing.

Get up. And fight.

I am struggling with the concept of "Surrender". Maybe, because I don't find it in the Word of God. And I think it has become an excuse that men use to not take responsibility for the consequences of their choices.

Many men say, “Surrender it all to God.”

But often we only want to surrender the things we no longer want to carry:
the problems, the consequences, the pain, the challenges, and the disasters.

But many of those burdens were born from plans, choices, and actions that were never submitted to God in the first place.

A man cannot treat God as the cleanup crew for decisions he refused to submit to God’s authority.

Before you surrender the consequences,
submit the choices.

Before you ask God to fix the harvest,
ask Him to govern the seed.

Don’t surrender to God what you refused to submit to Him.

“Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.”
— Exodus 14:12 KJV

Many men turn back to Egypt
because the road to freedom
is harder than the comfort of slavery.

Slavery offers predictability.
Freedom demands faith.

Egypt had chains —
but it also had routine, food, and familiarity.

The wilderness had uncertainty, pressure, stretching, and dependence on God.

And many men would rather sit comfortably in bo***ge
than walk painfully toward transformation.

Because the old man always prefers:

* familiar chains,
* familiar sins,
* familiar excuses,
* familiar comfort.

But God never parts the sea
so a man can return to Pharaoh.

The wilderness is not proof God abandoned you.
It is proof He is separating you from Egypt.

A man of God must decide:

Will I return to the couch of slavery,
or endure the wilderness of transformation?

Because freedom has a cost —
but bo***ge charges interest forever.

The Cross, your Exodus

“Speak unto all the congregation of Israel… and they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post… Thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD’S passover.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭12‬:‭3‬, ‭7‬, ‭11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The blood on the doorpost was never meant to be a symbol of comfort while remaining in bo***ge.
It was a mark of separation, preparation, and departure.

God instructed Israel to eat the Passover ready to move:

* belt fastened,
* sandals on,
* staff in hand,
* hearts prepared to leave Egypt behind.

The blood was connected to movement.

In the same way, when a man comes to the cross of Christ, he cannot cling to the chains of the old life while claiming the freedom of the new one. The cross is not only forgiveness from slavery — it is the departure point from slavery.

Many want the protection of the blood,
but not the process of departure.

Yet true salvation always calls a man out:

* out of bo***ge,
* out of old identity,
* out of old habits,
* out of spiritual Egypt.

A man cannot stand under the blood while refusing to leave Pharaoh’s house.

The cross is not only a place to be saved.
It is a place to prepare for exodus.

An Esto Vir Dei reflection:

The blood on the doorposts was not painted over a people preparing to stay.
It covered a people preparing to leave.

The cross of Christ is not permission to remain the old man.
It is the call to depart from him forever.

John 11:6-8 AMP
[6] So [even] when He heard that Lazarus was sick, He stayed in the same place two more days. [7] Then He said to His disciples, “Let us go back to Judea.” [8] The disciples said to Him, “Rabbi (Teacher), the Jews were only recently going to stone You, and You are [thinking of] going back there again?”

Jesus did not react emotionally to situations; He acted purposefully from obedience.

Although He loved Lazarus, love did not make Him panic. He waited, not because He cared less, but because He was submitted to the Father’s timing.

Although danger waited in Judea, fear did not stop Him. He went, not because the threat was small, but because His purpose was greater.

Jesus shows us that a man of God must not be ruled by emotional urgency or emotional fear.

Love must not make you lose discipline.
Fear must not make you lose obedience.
Purpose must govern both.

Consistent preceeds equipment.

Matthew 25:23 AMP
[23] His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little, I will put you in charge of many things; share in the joy of your master.’

When I started with my training journey, I started with walking, later running, then swimming and lastly cycling. I had no equipment, but a pair of old one size to small pair of tekkies. I walked kilometers in them and needles to say lost a few toe nails on the way. (I keep them as a remembrance)

When I started swimming in the icy water in winter in a dam with a small board saying: Swimming prohibited. No swim cap or glasses. I swam my first open water sea swim to the wall and back without cap or glasses.

Later I wanted to see if I can do a triathlon and needed a bike. I did not have an roadbike and a friend borrowed me one. Later I bought my own one for R 3500.00 and I am still cycling on it. Doing triathlons and races with it.

Moral of this story is: You don't need the best to start. You don't need to have the best to give your best. The main thing is that you can give your best with what you have. Because, all you need, is all you have. Yes, there is nothing wrong with having the best. But if the lack of the best equipment prevents you from being consistent, then you will also not be consistent, even with the best equipment.

I am privilege to train with some great athletes. Doing events with them and non of them ever looked down on my old heavy outdated bike, or even my tekkies when my toes starts to make their appearance after 1000 kilometer on them.

What is stopping you to become your best?? Perhaps lack of fancy equipments or perhaps it is the fear of: "Making your naam G*T". Or is it your ego that is standing in your way of becoming the best version of yourself.

God open doors for me to do things I never thought I would be able to do. I have missed entries but still train as if I am going, and then miraculousy I got entries. I believe that opportunities comes to ghose who prepare.

All you have, is all you need.
