Here are more picture of the amazing retreat I went on last weekend.

A silent yoga sound retreat.
It was spring equinox and new moon. New moon in Libra, my sign.
Yes it was all there.
A time for healing and new intentions.
A time to reconnect with myself, with joy and inspiration.
I feel so blessed that I was able to be there. Soak in the silence and beautiful nature.

Thank you so much Janet .co.za for hosting this retreat. Join her yoga classes at Constantia.
Thank you Tanita for the amazing food.
And thanks to all the lovely ladies for holding the sacred silent space together.

💭 Ways to deal with the unknown 💭

Fear of the unknown is the tendency to be afraid when you have no information on any level about something you face.

There are many things in our lives that we can’t predict and have control over. This is especially true during this time of crisis. We need to make a choice in how we approach these situations.

The following might be helpful when dealing with the unknown:
✨ Focus on what you can control. When you find yourself worrying over the future or different situations, ask yourself: what can I control in this situation?
✨ Create plans not expectations. Focus on what you'll do to create what you want to experience in life.
✨ Practice mindfulness. Always try to bring it back to the present moment and connect with the here and now.
✨ Connect to your purpose and meaning.
✨ Daily and consistent self-care. It can be simple things you do to help you feel a bit more grounded and comforted.
✨ Accept that there is no way of knowing what life holds for us and everyone else. It is just a part of life.
✨ Acknowledge how you feel and write it down every time the thought of the unknown starts to overwhelm you.

To manage the fear, you can identify areas within your control, make a step-by-step plan, practice mindfulness to ground yourself in the present, or talk to someone you trust.

We have the ability to focus on the positive, loving, wonderful things that are still happening around us.

Our current situation may be frightening and frustrating, but if we make the effort to harness our ability to be resilient, we can come out the other side of this, stronger and more at peace.

I have seen profound healing and I have the pleasure of watching this transformation take place over and over again. Not only can people heal from trauma, they can also learn how to live in the moment, rather than dwelling on the past or anticipating the future.

🌸🌸🌸

I love to share my experiences working with women who have overcome their trauma and apply this knowledge in teaching meditation. At House of Awareness, I offer a place where everyone can learn to meditate and experience the benefits of Yoga Nidra, especially for women suffering from trauma.

💭 How to Stay Positive in Negative Situations 💭

🌪️ Do you become pessimistic and lose hope, when you fail or when you face difficulties?
🌪️ Do you keep thinking and focusing on negative situations, difficulties or disasters that might happen?
🌪️ Do you think you are not brave or strong enough to withstand adversity?

We often face negative situations and encounter negative people. We are constantly exposed to negative news when we listen to the radio, watch TV, or read the newspapers. This can create negative energy.

A negative state of mind is like a heavy rock that you carry on your back. It slows you down, weakens you, and makes you feel helpless. This state of mind makes you passive, takes away your motivation to improve and lets you allow external situations to control your life.

The alternative is to develop a positive state of mind. This requires clearity, awareness of your feeling and thoughts, and some inner work. This is not difficult and is fun to do.

The following are some tips for staying positive in negative situations:
✨ Get enough sleep and rest
✨ Spend time to focus on the good things in your life or do things that bring happiness into your life.
✨ Exercise your body
✨ Replace your negative thoughts with positive thoughts
✨ Learn to meditate and increase your awareness
✨ Practice gratitude

When you train your mind to be more alert and calm, this will have a positive effect on your environment.

Do you want to train your brain to become more calm, so you can create a positive environment and stay positive at work and at home? This and so much more is what I will teach in my upcoming Resilience course.

🌸 Later today at 6.30pm CEST/SAST, there will be a launch party where I'll tell you all about the course. In this webinar, I will tell you how to increase your resilience for true and sustainable healing.

The more you talk negatively to yourself, the more that negativity will become a part of you.

Instead, practice the power of positive thinking. Any time a negative thought comes into your mind, replace it with a positive one. At some point, this will become more natural as your brain automatically turns a negative into a positive.

With the power of positive thinking, we can learn to put negative situations in perspective and to deal with them as they arise.

Do you want to experience more ease, joy, and well-being? In my upcoming Resilience course, you will learn different powerful tools that will help to overcome intense emotions and negative thoughts. You will feel more connected with yourself and the people around you and you feel so powerful afterwards!

💭 Break free from emotional self-harm 💭

When we hear the word ‘self-harm’ most of us will think of the act of physically hurting ourselves. But as the name suggests, self-harm is just that – anything that harms the self. This means self-harm can encompass much more than just the physical. In fact, it’s possible to cause ourselves mental and emotional self-harm that can be just as damaging to us in the long run.

Signs and symptoms of emotional self-harm:
💥 Not speaking your truth
💥 Causing a fight by overreacting
💥 Having a pattern of abusive relationships or harmful friendships
💥 Talking yourself down
💥 Social withdrawal out of fear of not fitting in
💥 Internalizing your conflicted emotions, building walls and refusing to seek help from others
💥 Belittling your own progress and accomplishments
💥 Self-sacrificial behavior, or a people pleaser at the expense of your own happiness
💥 Holding a grudge

We often can cause self-harm by the individuals we choose to surround ourselves with. With the right help, we can always break free from emotional self-harm. The first step is becoming aware.

Below are some tips on how to overcome emotional self-harm:
✨ Give yourself credit for your achievements and how far you have come.
✨ Remind yourself of one thing you are proud of each day.
✨ Take time to relax and self-reflect on your prior achievements.
✨ Vulnerability is the ultimate driving force of happiness and by being more open with yourself and others, you can allow others to reach out to you and support you.
✨ Understand that it is okay to feel bad when things do not work out.
✨ Surround yourself with supportive, motivated and happy people who exercise healthy habits.
✨ It is okay to be angry with individuals if they have treated you poorly but by holding grudges you are ignoring your ability to regulate your emotions in a healthy fashion.

It is incredibly important to learn to recognize these harmful patterns, the underlying reasons why these behaviors and thoughts exist and to learn and practice coping mechanisms that are more helpful. My upcoming Resilience program is designed to help you do just that.

💕 The next Resilience Program will start in September. On 12th of August there will be a launch party where I'll share all you need to know about how to work on true and sustainable healing.

The ability to stay focused in the present moment is a powerful tool in life.

Today's fast-paced life has made most people feel lost or disconnected from themselves. A great technique to find the source of wisdom within you is to quiet your mind, turn your attention inward, and enter the present moment. As you reconnect within, let the voice of your inner wisdom inform you. The very act of pausing, quieting your mind, and allowing yourself to be still is a nourishing act of self-connection and can reveal valuable information that you might otherwise miss.

As we face the challenges and stress in our lives, embracing and practicing mindfulness can build resilience and help us weather the storms.

Do you want to feel more balanced and connected with yourself? In my upcoming Resilience course, I will help you feel more connected and so you can experience healing and inner peace.

🌸 My Resilience course will start again soon. On the 12th of August, there will be a launch party where I'll tell you all about the course. In this webinar, I will tell you how to increase your resilience for true and sustainable healing.

💭 Signs You Have A Hyperactive Brain 💭

Brain hyperactivity can make things seriously difficult for you. Even just productively making it through your day can sometimes be a challenge. Your mind might race, it can be difficult to focus, you may be a procrastinator or deal with certain mood disorders.

If you suspect that you might have a hyperactive brain, keep an eye out for these signs:

💥 You Struggle To Concentrate. Nearly everyone has difficulties with concentration and focus from time to time, so it, alone, certainly doesn't mean that your brain is hyperactive, but it can potentially point to that.
💥 You're Also Dealing With Anxiety. Hyperactivity and anxiety can be linked.
💥 You're Struggling To Sleep. If you can't seem to sleep because there's always something else to think about, that could be a sign that you have a hyperactive brain.
💥 You Can't Remember Names Or Details Very Well. When you have a hyperactive brain, names and details can sometimes be difficult to remember - far more difficult than remembering general ideas or the gist of a situation.
💥 You're Dealing With Depression. The classic symptoms of clinical depression can include things like trouble focusing, anxiety, short attention spans, and more, and those university researchers found that these sorts of things might be connected to brain hyperactivity.
💥 Your Attention Span Is Quite Short. Attention spans, too, can shift and change depending on the circumstances and the situation, but if you pretty consistently have a very short attention span, that could be another potential sign of hyperactivity in adults.

The signs you have a hyperactive brain are varied and can affect you in many different ways.

Even if you have all of these signs of a hyperactive brain, it doesn't necessarily mean that you have any diagnosable conditions, but if you're concerned about your hyperactivity or it's significantly impacting your life, speaking with your healthcare provider is never a bad idea. Whether it's medical treatment or strategies for managing things, there are things you might be able to do to help.

🌸 Are you ready to find inner peace? On the 12th of August, there will be a launch party for the next Resilience course. In this bonus webinar I will tell you how to increase your resilience for true and sustainable healing.
