​Our brave girl is heading into the toughest chapters of her journey, and it’s time for us to rally together and show her the massive village she has standing behind her!

​The Crusaders Far East Familia is hosting an incredible fundraiser day to help fund a future for 13-year-old Leané as she battles Leukemia. Bring the whole family out for a day filled with hope, community, and fun!

Home for Now & Looking Ahead with Faith: An Update on Leané 🌻🤍

Hello friends and family,
We are overflowing with gratitude to share some wonderful news today—Leané’s blood counts were looking so good that the doctors have allowed her to go home for now! 🙏🏠

It is such an incredible blessing to have this precious time out of the hospital and back in a comfortable, familiar environment here in White River.

What Lies Ahead This Month:

June 4th (Check-up): We will return to the hospital for a thorough check-up. If her counts still look good, we’ll be blessed with the opportunity to stay at home in Pretoria. If they've dropped, she will need to be readmitted so the medical team can monitor her closely and give blood or platelets if needed. The main goal right now is keeping her strong and fully ready for the next phase.

June 10th (Isolation & Chemo): This is where the next major chapter begins. Leané will start her stronger chemotherapy treatment, and we will be admitted into full isolation for 6 to 8 weeks. During this time, she will have no outside contact except for certain doctors.

We know this upcoming stretch is going to be a very steep and challenging mountain to climb, but we are placing our complete trust in God’s hands every single step of the way. 🕊️✨

Thank you all so much for the endless stream of prayers, messages, love, and support. It truly means more to our family than words can ever say. Please continue to keep our brave girl wrapped in your prayers as we head into this next chapter.

A Daughter’s Heart & Answered Prayers: An Update on Leané 🌸

​Hello friends and family,

​We are sharing today's update with such a relieved and grateful heart. After the rollercoaster of feelings, worries, and heavy emotions yesterday, we have had a much better day today. Thank you all so deeply for lifting her up in your prayers.

​We had a very special visitor today—Riaan went to see her, and it lifted Leané’s spirits more than words can even describe. Seeing them together made it so clear: she just really, truly missed her Dad. 💕

​“A daughter may outgrow your lap, but she will never outgrow your heart.” — Unknown.

​There is nothing quite like the love between a father and his daughter to bring comfort and strength on the hard days. Seeing her smile and connect with her dad was the best medicine we could have asked for.

​Thank you all once again for your continued prayers, messages, love, and unwavering support during this time. We see the hands of our community and the grace of God moving through every single text and prayer. We are truly grateful for each and every one of you walking this path beside us. 🤍

A Milestone of Hope: Catch up post on news from last week.💛🌟

​Hello friends and family 🌸

​We have reached the end of another chapter. Leané has officially finished her 4th round of chemotherapy! She is still standing strong, though this round has brought its challenges. She’s been struggling a bit with stomach cramps and fatigue, and because her blood counts are currently a little low, she will be receiving a blood transfusion today. 🩸🙏

​Despite the tiredness, the good news is that our girl is still eating fairly well—a small but significant victory that we are so grateful for! 🍽️🤍

​The Big News: We Have a Potential Match!
We are overflowing with hope to share that a donor has been found! 🌟

We are currently awaiting final confirmation, and once everything is set, the plan is to begin intensive chemotherapy on the 15th of June. This will be followed by her bone marrow transplant and a period of isolation for 6-8 weeks. 🕊️

Please consider becoming a bone marrow donor. The more of us that are listed, the better chance other children like Leané stand to beat this disease. 💪

​This is a massive step toward healing, and while the road ahead is intense, we know who goes before us. 🛡️✨

Holding on to Hope: An Urgent Update on Leané 💐
​Hello friends and family 🌸

​We had a quiet but good weekend. Leané had a visit from a school friend and some family, which brought a lot of joy to her heart and really lifted her spirits. 🥰

​However, yesterday was a very difficult day for our girl, and her little body is feeling incredibly weak and tired right now.

​Leané’s blood counts were quite low. Over the weekend, she received platelets, and yesterday she had to undergo a blood transfusion. On top of that, her throat is very sore and she is struggling to swallow. The doctors have given her medication for the pain and are monitoring her closely.

​Most concerning, Leané had a seizure this morning. She is now on oxygen, resting, and being watched over by her medical team every single minute.

​It breaks our hearts to see her so exhausted, but even on a dark day like today, we remain deeply grateful for the incredible care and the immense circle of love surrounding her. She is a fighter, but she needs our collective strength right now. 🛡️🧡

​Pray: Please lift Leané up in your prayers today. Pray for peace, for the seizures to cease, for her throat to heal, and for supernatural strength to flood her body.
