Some days, I see what people are doing online and I feel pressured.
Other days, I see what my mates are doing and I feel jealous.
And on some days, the same things encourage me.
But all of these feelings still remind me of one thing:
I am human.
The worst thing you can do is lie to yourself and say, “I can never be jealous of someone’s success,” or “I can never feel pressured by what other people are doing.”
Be honest.
You will not tell me that every single time you see someone succeeding, you're genuinely happy without asking yourself,
“What am I even doing?”
“Is it that I'm not doing anything with my life?”
“When will my own time come?”
Sometimes, you feel it.
And that's okay.
The problem isn't always that you felt jealous or pressured.
The problem is when you refuse to admit that you felt it.
Because when you're honest with yourself, you can actually deal with what you're feeling.
You can ask yourself, Why am I feeling this way?
What exactly am I admiring about this person?
Is there something this is revealing about what I want for myself?
And maybe, instead of allowing comparison to destroy you, you begin to learn from it.
Being honest with yourself is not weakness.
Sometimes, honesty is where growth begins.
And that's why we have conversations like this in the Beyond the smile by Vuno
We talk about our strengths.
We talk about our weaknesses.
We talk about the things we struggle with.
We talk about the things that make us feel stuck.
Mental Health Movement
We talk about becoming honestly.
Because you don't have to pretend to have everything figured out before you can grow.
Be apart of the movement and let's grow together.
