Eli, a high priest and judge in Israel, is a biblical figure whose parenting is often discussed as a cautionary tale. His two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, served as priests but were described as "wicked men" who "did not know the Lord" (1 Samuel 2:12). They abused their priestly roles by taking the best portions of sacrifices for themselves and engaging in immoral behavior.

Eli was aware of his sons' misconduct and even rebuked them verbally (1 Samuel 2:22-25). However, he failed to take decisive action to discipline them or remove them from their positions. This lack of firm intervention led to severe consequences for his family and the nation of Israel. God's judgment on Eli's household included the death of his sons and the loss of the priesthood from his lineage (1 Samuel 2:27-36).

Eli's story highlights the importance of consistent discipline and accountability in parenting. It serves as a reminder to prioritize God's principles over personal relationships, even when it involves difficult decisions. If you'd like to explore more lessons from this story, let me know!

As yet another weekend approaches, we, the wellness team, would like to share with you on the 80/20 life principle for both your health and your wellness.

We want for you to remember always that no matter the circumstance surrounding you may be, be it health, work, or family, a little effort always goes a very long way.

The 80/20 principle is a well-known concept in business and economics.

It suggests that 80 % of the outcomes come from 20% of the efforts put in.

However, this principle applies not only to business but also to life in general.

In this context, the 80/20 principle suggests that 80% of the things that matter in your life are caused by 20% of your actions.

The key to success is to identify your 20% of actions, nurture, harness and focus on them. Doing so will maximize your productivity and help you achieve your goals faster. Now, let’s dive into the 80/20 principles recommendations for you to consider;

Principle #1: Anything Is Possible If You’re Willing To Work For It
Success has no limits. Anything is possible if you are willing to work for it. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t achieve something. If you’re willing to put in the effort, you can make anything happen.

Principle #2: Set Clear Goals And Make A Plan To Achieve Them
Set clear goals and make a plan to achieve them. You should define and break your goals into smaller, achievable steps. By doing so, you’ll have a clear roadmap to success

Principle #4: Embrace Failure As A Learning Opportunity
Principle #5: Learn Continuously
Principle #6: Take Care Of Your Health
Principle #9: Practice Gratitude
Principle #10: Be Proactive
Principle #11: Focus On Solutions, Not Problems

Dear husband and wife

Creating a Pure Atmosphere—Every Christian home should have rules; and parents should, in their words and deportment toward each other, give to the children a precious, living example of what they desire them to be. Purity in speech and true Christian courtesy should be constantly practiced. Teach the children and youth to respect themselves, to be true to God, true to principle; teach them to respect and obey the law of God. These principles will control their lives and will be carried out in their associations with others. They will create a pure atmosphere—one that will have an influence that will encourage weak souls in the upward path that leads to holiness and heaven. Let every lesson be of an elevating and ennobling character, and the records made in the books of heaven will be such as you will not be ashamed to meet in the judgment. - Adventist Home 16.3.

Despite the wonderful glow the heat and sun comes with in this new season, bacterial organisms are equally lurking and thriving in these conditions too.

In an effort to stay safe and healthy in the heat, please find attached an information sheet on a few things you may need to know about typhoid fever.

Remember, while we are all happy that we are now in a position to relax some of the Covid-19 measures, maintaining good hand hygiene is really important and has many health benefits beyond Covid-19!

So take some time to read, download and share the attachment with family, friends and colleagues to stay on top of your health this summer.

Have a wonderful sabbath.
