SADCYN is participating in a learning session themed Meauring what Matters- Country level Beyond GDP.
Very valuable notions unpacking way of life beyond just mentioning that GDP is growing. Uts interesting to learn that Zambia is implmenting a SEEA framework. That GDP measures economic speed while SEEA provides country strategic direction by integrating natural capital for sustainable growth.
It also encourgaing to learn that NewZealand in 2019 made a delibaerate move and labelled their annual budget 'WELLBEING BUDGET' they used the beyond GDP framework. They had priority policy setting to address gaps in wellbeing culture and nature. International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD)

Yesterday, we successfully held our First 'Meet & Greet' with our wonderful network members from across SADC Region. We are excited to have shared our Goals, Mission and Vision of the Network. Among the many things we discussed were benefits of belonging to regional network of young people. SADC Youth Network collaborates with regional and international institutions to amplify youth voices.
We have collaborated with African Union ECOSOCC – Engagement in continental youth civic leadership and policy dialogue.
🌍 We are a members of the global Democracy Youth Cohort – where we get Global collaboration on democratic governance and youth political participation.
We have also been participating in the Roscongress Foundation – an international forum for things such as Russia Energy Week for youth exposure and capacity building.
🤝 These partnerships position SADCYN as a bridge connecting Southern African youth to global platforms.

On the 13th our team SADCYN and She Parliamentary had the opportunity to meet with representatives from the Electoral Commission of Zambia at the ECZ resource to discuss the upcoming general election. We were taken through the electoral process, including voter registration, candidate nomination, and polling procedures.

Key takeaways:
- The commission emphasized the importance of voter education and encouraged all eligible citizens to participate.
- They highlighted measures being taken to ensure transparency and fairness in the electoral process.
- We were informed about the role of observers and the importance of peaceful campaigning
- And how the commission educated aspiring candidates on the necessary recommendation, and requirements needed for one to be nominated to take part in the elections.
As citizens let's also take some time to visit the Electoral Commission of Zambia Resource center for insightful information on what the commission does and learn more on the election processes of Zambia
