I STAND WITH Levy Mwanawansa Medical University
It was quite an eventful day, we the students of Levy decided to take matters into our own hands. The situation was going from bad to worse even after our first peaceful protest. Imagine having houses being attacked a few hours after a protest was held.
The students living outside campus are in fear of their lives. Our sisters were in constant fear of what would happen next and who the next victim would be. It is an urgent matter that needed solutions and fast solutions at that.

We had the P.S for the Ministry of Education, P.S division-cabinet office and P.S of the office of the Vice President come and address the situation at hand. Our Mothers and Fathers came to unite with us and see how best the situation could be resolved. We are highly grateful for the quick response and the address.

Thank you to the media houses such as ZNBC Today, Diamond Tv that publicized it and made the situation known. Thank you National Council of Student Unions - Nacosu for showing up and standing with us. Thank you to public figures such as Remmy Kangwa and content creators that made our voices be heard more. Thank you for the support from Union leaders from different universities that offered us support.

I'm happy that our peaceful protest was successful. Measures have been put in place and for that we are happy.

Today I am part of the youths that are speaking in Parliament. Youth parliament is a platform that showcases the leadership skills that one has, a good opportunity given to me by the National Council of Student Unions - Nacosu.

The inclusion of Youths in Parliament is a very good implementation and helps us the youths bring out problems that directly affect us. We the youths are happy about Government's bid to include us in National affairs.

Thank you to the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts for organizing such an event to acknowledge and present awards to the youths that are making a difference in their societies.

I was happy to see that Dora Moono Nyambe's legacy is still going stronger and stronger. Thank you for recognizing her efforts, she really was a beacon of hope and love. Though gone she still remains dear to our hearts.

The performances were incredible. We had performances from great artists such as Chileshe Bwalya, Tianna , Chef 187, Trinah Namfumu 🥰 just to name a few. It was a fully packed evening with a lot of dignatories.

COMESA CAREER YOUTH TALK

Let's talk careers and alignment.
It was a very fun, informative, educative and inspiring talk. We had two panel discussions, a youth panel and a directors plus P.S panel.

We had the P.S from the ministry of finance Madam Etambuyu Anamela. Director of Gender and social affairs, Madam Beatrice Hamusonde. Director of Budget and finance Madam Oreila Ilunga, Director of HR department Mr Dumisani Banda and Director of Governance, peace and security Dr Oita Etyang. From the youth panel we had the likes of Claudia and Farah. We also had a youth from the law department, finance, Gender and social affairs and GPS.

The P.S emphasized on young people being contributors to the economy. She said Success is not accidental but informed. She urged us to be deliberate in what you want to be and to have technical competence.

The director of Gender and social affairs. Told us to not be defined by where we come from but to focus on the goal at hand.

The director of Budget and finance said we should know the business we want to get into. Know what you want so that you have a clearer path. She encouraged us to have an ambition drive and to know your brand with consistency, innovation and hard work.

The Director of the HR department said hard work beats talent when talent isn't working. He also mentioned of the importance of God's timing. Your time and my time are different. Some find it easier while others don't.

The Director of Governance, peace and security told us to be prepared and have passion. He said we all have different timings so we should continue to push forward even when things don't seem to be working.

It was a great opportunity to network and learn from the people who have gone before us and our fellow youths.Thank you to Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and Governance, peace and security department for making this possible for us.

In an environment with so much excitement, joy and uncertainties of the future.

I was happy to be part of the National Council of Student Unions - Nacosu team that went to welcome our newest addition to the Levy Mwanawansa Medical University family, the first years.

First year is always exciting and you are so eager for life away from home. It's a new experience and a new environment. But there's always someone who has gone before you, and if they can do it, you will and can as well.
