Dear Healthcare Professional,

Urgent Device Safety Update: Cepheid Xpert® CT/NG

The Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA) has been made aware by Cepheid, the manufacturer of Cepheid Xpert® CT/GN test, of a rare genetic mutation event between Neisseria
gonorrhoea and Neisseria meningitidis that has caused some strains to lack target sites for the Cepheid Xpert® CT/GN test leading to false negative results. Undetected infections can lead to
continuous disease transmission and worsened patient health.

The Authority recommends that laboratories, hospitals and clinics using the Cepheid Xpert® CT/GN test as their molecular method for the detection of N. gonorrhoea to monitor for decreases
in the positivity rate and ensure discordant results (e.g. testing negative on Cepheid Xpert® CT/GN test but positive for NG by culture/microscopy or testing negative on Cepheid Xpert®
CT/GN test but positive for NG using another NAAT) are investigated further and reported to the Authority.

ORAL S*X- MOUTH SYPHILIS/ THROAT CANCER

What you're seeing here is not an ordinary swelling, this is a Syphilitic Gumma, a non- cancerous swelling that can result from Syphilis.

This young woman had this for a year , a test for Syphilis was done and was found to be positive, after a series of Benzathine penicillin 2.4 M.U for 3 weeks the growth resolved.

It comes through oral sexual in*******se which can of course also cause throat cancer.☺
