We were delighted to be invited to speak at the Rotary Club of Lusaka, whose December theme is Disease prevention. Our team highlighted the following:
• Early detection is key to disease prevention
• Community sensitization and awareness are key in ensuring populations are aware of growing health challenges
• Combined efforts are needed to ensure access to diagnostic tools to aid in screening.

At Empower Health Africa, our mission is to promote early screening, diagnosis, and management of key health conditions.

We look forward to working alongside other partners to continue ensuring equitable and equal healthcare access for even the most vulnerable.

We join the global community in marking World AIDS Day 2025.

As we work toward overcoming disruption and transforming the AIDS response, we call on everyone to support awareness, prevention, and collective action.

Empower Health Africa is on the move again! In partnership with Upright Africa, we recently spent some time in North Eastern Zambia in the Chikwa Chiefdom, Chama District.

In very remote villages, we conducted Noncommunicable disease screening to identify opportunities for community strengthening in the prevention and management of conditions including hypertension, diabetes, stroke and mental health disorders.

We are excited to work with community leaders, partners, and local healthcare workers to transform health outcomes through community ownership.

Stay tuned to see how this trip has yielded insightful findings and areas we can intervene. As we continue to move across Zambia your support in our fieldwork is critical in our mission to access hard to reach communities with equitable healthcare.

The recent fund cuts didn’t just stop projects; they disrupted lives, dreams, and the fragile progress so many communities were fighting to build. At Afrihealth Ventures, the impact was deeply felt.

A small refugee camp in Northern Uganda lost the tailoring initiative that was giving women a chance to rebuild their dignity through vocational skills. An agriculture program supporting over 1,500 farmers with tools, seeds, and capital, all designed to strengthen livelihoods and improve food security, was forced to shut down.

These aren’t just statistics. They are mothers, families, and entire communities whose hope depended on these interventions.

But this moment is also a reminder: we cannot rely solely on foreign aid and external funding.

Real change begins with us.

Let this be our call to action.

Let us stand together, support one another, and build resilient communities with our own hands.

If each of us gives even a little, we can keep vital programs alive and ensure no one is left behind.
