On Unity Day, a day that celebrates togetherness, Dr. Natasha Namuziyachose to mark her birthday differently. Instead of a personal celebration, she went to Mushili Level 1 Hospital in Ndola with baby hampers for new mothers and their newborns.
Mushili serves families from Ndola’s peri-urban communities, where the joy of a new baby often comes with financial strain. The hampers, filled with essentials for the first weeks of life, offered more than material support. They were a reminder that the start of life deserves dignity and that someone cared.
For Dr. Natasha, the gesture was intentional. Unity Day is not only about speeches, but about action. She wanted to show that compassion is not limited to family or close friends. Even people not so close can come through for one another, and service can itself be a form of celebration.
The impact was immediate. Wards felt lighter, mothers were encouraged, and staff were reminded that small acts of kindness restore hope in places where resources are stretched.
By linking her birthday to a public act of care, Dr. Natasha turned personal joy into community good. Her message was simple: the most meaningful way to celebrate life is to help give another life a better start.

We formally recognize and commend Senior Nursing Officer Mrs. Agatha Chipule Mweeemba on the successful completion of her Master of Science in Midwifery and Women’s Health.
Mrs. Mweeemba defied the usual constraints of workload and logistics to achieve what many consider a statistically improbable outcome advancing clinical expertise while maintaining full operational duties. In doing so, she has become one of the few gallant professionals to elevate both her credentials and our facility’s clinical capacity.
Her achievement directly enhances evidence based practice, maternal neonatal outcomes, and mentorship standards within Mushili Level One Hospital. She has upgraded our human capital and reduced our institutional knowledge deficit without requiring a software update.
This is not solely a personal milestone. It is an institutional win and, more importantly, a clinical advantage for every patient under our care.
Join us in congratulating Mrs. Mweeemba, our resident trailblazer and proof that CPD can be both rigorous and achievable.

The 2026 labour day celebration has a whole depth of meaning for us.
I look at what we have achieved in 8 months, and I finally see some of the fullest meaning of labour day achievements and celebrations.
✅You have been selfless in dedication and service
Diligent in the face of difficulties
✅You have overcome challenges that felt impossible in the beginning
✅You have managed to be selfless even when you had reached your end
✅You have smiled when you didn't know how to overcome exhaustion
Indeed you have lived upto the saying do all work as unto the Lord.
You are an example of a people who deserve their flowers and honours on labour day.

With utmost gratitude .
Happy Labour Day!

Yours in service,
Dr Jane Mumba
