🚨 Prostate Problems: Warning Signs You Should NEVER Ignore!🚨
The prostate gland plays a vital role in men’s health—but when it malfunctions, it can lead to serious issues. Here’s what you need to know about common prostate diseases, symptoms, and when to act!
1️⃣ Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH – Enlarged Prostate)
🔹 What happens?The prostate grows larger, squeezing the urethra (check our previous posts to understand why the squeezing occurs).
🔹 Symptoms:
✔️ Frequent/urgent urination
✔️ Weak urine stream
✔️ Difficulty starting/stopping urine flow
✔️ Nighttime bathroom trips (nocturia)
⚠️ Complications:UTIs(urinary tract infections), bladder stones, kidney damage
2️⃣ Prostatitis (Inflammation/Infection)
🔹 Types:
- Acute bacterial: Sudden infection (fever, pain, urinary issues).
- Chronic bacterial: Recurring infections.
- Chronic pelvic pain syndrome: Most common (non-bacterial).
🔹 Symptoms:
✔️ Pelvic/lower back pain
✔️ Burning during urination
✔️ Painful ej*******on
✔️ Flu-like symptoms (if bacterial)
3️⃣ Prostate Cancer
🔹 What happens?Malignant cells grow (sometimes slowly, sometimes aggressively).
🔹 Symptoms (often silent early on):
✔️ Urinary issues (like BPH)
✔️ Blood in urine/semen
✔️ Erectile dysfunction
✔️ Bone pain (if advanced)
🔹 Risk factors: Age (50+), family history, obesity, race (higher risk in Black men).

🔹 Tests: PSA blood test, digital re**al exam (DRE), biopsy.
🔹 Treatments:
BPH: Meds, surgery (TURP).
Prostatitis: Antibiotics (if bacterial), anti-inflammatories.
Cancer: Surgery, radiation, hormone therapy.
WHEN TO SEE A DOCTOR:
✔️ Persistent urinary symptoms
✔️ Blood in urine/semen
✔️ Pelvic pain or s*xual dysfunction
