Day 2 in Austin is underway! 🚀

After an incredible first day, we're back at The Cathedral ATX for a full-day, hands-on tabletop exercise based on a real-world crisis involving a global consumer brand.

Working in teams, our delegates are moving through every stage of a crisis response: identifying the incident, finding the facts, planning the resolution and developing the message, all while social media, legal pressure and stakeholders pull in different directions.

Leading the workshop is Debora Lima, Managing Director of Sensei Advisory and a former journalist who contributed to the Pulitzer Prize-winning Panama Papers investigation. Less theory, more practice. Let's go! 💪

Our Crisis Communications Boot Camp is back in Austin for the second time, and this time we took it somewhere very special. For the first time ever, a P World event inside an actual cathedral ⛪

The Cathedral ATX, a restored 1930s church in East Austin, set the stage for a full day of real stories and hard-won lessons on crisis leadership.

Day 1 was all about moving AI from experiments to real, responsible implementation, with insights from leaders at Amazon, Yale School of Medicine, Wikimedia Foundation, DHL and Columbia University.

🌺 For the first time, the Crisis Communications Boot Camp is coming to Hawaii.

After New York, Miami, Chicago, Austin, Salt Lake City and LA, we're taking it to Honolulu on 22–23 February 2027, at the 'Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach.

You'll hear from Stanford University, Ben & Jerry's, Edelman, IBM, USA Gymnastics, Walmart, the Metropolitan Police Department and the University of Georgia.

Over two days, you'll learn how to own the first 60 minutes of a crisis, when to speak and when to stay silent, how to defend against deepfakes and disinformation, how to keep your people aligned on the worst day, and how to rebuild trust and prove your impact to leadership.

Day 2 is where you practice. A full-day hands-on workshop with social media response drills, mock media interviews and a high-stakes press conference simulation. You leave with ten crisis strategies and a crisis plan that has already been tested.

Communicators are spending the day with Dr. Alex Sévigny (Professor of Communications Management, McMaster University) for a hands-on workshop — "From Prompt to Public Trust: Practical AI for Public Sector Communicators." On the agenda: structured prompting labs, data-to-insight exercises, a governance and risk clinic, and 30-day action plans to take back to their teams.

The day also brought insights from Dino Delic (Head of Data-Driven Communications, Meltwater) and Lisa Zhao (Lead, Canadian Public Sector, Meltwater) on why AI can't fix a structure problem on its own.
