Perimenopause is such a strange season because nobody really prepares you for how deeply it can affect you⌠not just physically, but emotionally too.
Yes, hormones are shifting.
Progesterone starts declining first, which can leave women feeling more anxious, overwhelmed, sensitive, wired, exhausted, emotional and unable to cope with stress the way they used to.
Then estrogen starts fluctuating unpredictably, which can affect:
⢠mood
⢠sleep
⢠memory
⢠confidence
⢠nervous system regulation
⢠weight gain
⢠inflammation
⢠energy
⢠even your sense of identity
But what Iâve noticed working with women is this:
Perimenopause often removes the âbufferâ we had for years.
The overgiving.
The people pleasing.
The constant pushing.
The ignoring of our own needs.
Suddenly the body starts saying:
âno more.â
This is why healing in this season has to go deeper than calories, supplements and willpower.
We need nervous system support.
Blood sugar balance.
Protein.
Minerals.
Rest.
Boundaries.
Strength training.
Honest conversations.
And space to finally reconnect with ourselves again.
Perimenopause isnât the end of you.
It may actually be the beginning of the most honest version of you yetâŚâ¨
