The illusion of control often comes from constant overthinking, the need to stay on top of everything, and the feeling that if you stop thinking about it, whatever that may be for you, something might go wrong.
And in times like these, it makes sense. With everything happening in the world, from war to economic uncertainty, the mind is trying to make sense of it all and stay prepared.
But what often goes unnoticed is that stress itself can become familiar. Overthinking can start to feel like control, and before you realise it, you are not just responding to life, you are living in a constant state of tension.
