I was either selling or leading all day, then walked in my front door and kept running things. Meals, logistics, the mood of the house, the invisible list of who needs what by when.
My husband would offer to take something and I’d hand it over, then check it, adjust it, or take it back by Friday. Down to how the dishwasher got loaded.
The lesson landed hard. I wasn’t carrying it all because no one would help. I was carrying it because control felt like safety, and being needed felt like love.
Letting my family do things their way cost me some cringe and got me a partnership. People step up once stepping up stops getting graded.
