The Montessori section is for children who are over 2 1/2 years old in September of the academic year. Montessori is a system of Nursery, Primary and Secondary education devised by Dr. Maria Montessori in the 1950s. She developed a series of equipment and a method of teaching to maximize each child's physical and psychological potential at any stage of their development. In the class, the children are encouraged to complete activities once started and to take responsibility for their classroom. This is done in a fun and child-friendly way. The Montessori classroom is divided into six areas: art, practical life, sensorial, language, mathematics and culture, which includes, geography, nature and science. All of our teachers have either Early Years or Montessori teaching qualifications and our assistant teachers are also encouraged to study nursery teaching methods. We are proactive in providing continuing education for all our staff, either by hosting courses at the nursery or facilitating staff to attend recognized study days. Our vision is to provide an environment that fosters a child's self confidence, independence and full potential; creating and developing the leaders of tomorrow.

Thank you to our 5,000 followers, and to the many more families who have walked through our red doors over the years.

Thank you for trusting us with your children, for believing in our vision, and for allowing us to be part of such an important chapter of their lives.

At Little Land, we strive to create a place where children’s interests are valued, where learning is meaningful, engaging, and filled with wonder. A place where friendships are formed, where teachers truly listen and support, and where every child feels seen, respected, and heard.

We believe childhood deserves to be protected and celebrated.

A childhood filled with time to explore, to take risks, to get muddy, to climb, to create, to imagine, and to discover the world outdoors.

A childhood where children have a voice, where their ideas matter, and where they are given the freedom and confidence to become themselves.

Thank you for being part of our community and for helping us honour childhood, every single day.

With gratitude,

The Little Land Team

Join us for a magical storytelling journey with Yogita Amonkar

With over 25 years of experience in international education, Yogita’s stories invite children to see the beauty of the world around them, celebrate where they come from, and discover the joy of curiosity and connection.

Together, we will follow Zimmi — a curious little traveller — through the sights, sounds, and landmarks of Dubai, uncovering clues, making discoveries, and bringing familiar places to life through story and imagination.

Some places children will recognise instantly.
Others may spark wonder for the very first time.

A beautiful opportunity to nurture a love for stories, culture, exploration, and connection.

There is something very special about watching children discover a new language.

Today I sat in our Mandarin class and found myself just quietly observing.

The room was full of little moments. Children joining in songs, copying actions, listening closely, trying sounds again and again, and completely losing themselves in what they were doing.

It reminded me that learning in early childhood looks very different.

Adults often think about learning as remembering information.

With children, it feels more like watching interest take hold.

Are they leaning in?
Are they trying?
Are they enjoying it?

If they are, something important is already happening.

What amazes me most is how naturally language seems to settle in. They pick up sounds that feel unfamiliar to me, yet they repeat them without hesitation and keep coming back for more.

At this age, language learning is not about pressure, tests or perfection.

It is about exposure.
Confidence.
Curiosity.
Connection.

And it is such a privilege to watch that little bit of magic unfold. 🌏

As we learned about Asia, the children followed their own interests,
discovering animals, exploring landforms, admiring famous buildings, and engaging with crafts and cultural artefacts that brought learning to life in meaningful ways.

Some were drawn to creating.
Some to building.
Some to stories, maps, or animals.

And that is the beauty of Montessori, children are not simply told what to learn, but are invited to form a connection with the world around them through hands-on experiences and freedom of exploration.

Because when learning feels personal and meaningful, it stays with a child long after the lesson ends.

Sometimes a child chooses to work alone, settling quietly into deep concentration, moving at their own pace, and discovering what they are capable of.

And sometimes, that same child chooses to work beside a friend, sharing ideas, observing one another, and learning through connection.

In Montessori, both moments are equally important.
There is purpose in the quiet independence of individual work, where confidence and focus begin to grow from within.

And there is purpose in working together, where children learn patience, communication, kindness, and community.

Children are given the freedom to move between both,
because learning is not one-size-fits-all, and every child’s journey unfolds in its own time.

What should we actually do when a child has a tantrum? 🤍

Watch till the end for one small shift that can gently change how you respond.

Tantrums are not children being “difficult.”

They are moments when feelings become bigger than a child can manage alone.

Children often need calm, connection, and an adult who can help them feel safe while the storm passes.

A big part of supporting children is also understanding our own tolerance for discomfort.

Sometimes it is not only the child’s feelings we are responding to… it is our own discomfort with tears, frustration, anger, noise, or helplessness.

The way we respond in hard moments slowly becomes the voice children build inside themselves.

Watch till the end for one gentle approach that may help support your child through big feelings.
