Everyone who knows me well — friends and family — knows that every year I go through experiences where I can dig deep into myself. We call it doing the work.
Yes even as coaches, we need to do the work that our communities and clients are doing though us, we have to go through it. And that’s not something you do once or twice, but every year — every year to dig deeper and take the time to reflect on life and go through the layers, layer after layer after layer.
This year, I was in a very special place in Tuscany, Italy, with great coaches, therapists, and beautiful people. What a great container we had.
I cried.
I laughed.
I hugged.
I released.
1 week with no mobile.
1 week with basic food and less sleep
1 week in silence.
And sometimes in a dark room,
while the sun was shining
in Tuscany.
What a ride.
And believe me, it’s a tough one.
Working on yourself is tough.
For everyone, even if you’ve done the work hundreds of times.
Being in silence with yourself
is tough and hard.
I had so many realizations.
I reflected on so many mistakes.
I realized that I made mistakes. Yes!
I need to apologise.
Not because you did them wrong. It’s about U
Looking into yourself, not at others.
F-k them.
Yes, they treated you badly.
Yes, they maybe f-ked up your life and traumatised u.
But now it’s about you.
It’s about looking within yourself. What you need to close this page. Sometimes the apology is for yourself more than for them. What you did to yourself, how you brought yourself there to give them the chance to do this with you.
It’s tough work.
But it’s good work.
I invite you all to do it.
The inner work.
Not once — because it’s a journey.
Just start.
Your journey.
Your life.
