STAFF SPOTLIGHT SERIES: YASMIN (YAZ)

We sat down with Yaz to chat about her role and what makes Active Social special to her.
Why did you choose to work in disability support? Yaz: I chose to work in disability support because I am passionate about helping, empowering, and supporting individuals. I believe it is important that people feel included, independent, and confident within their community. It is incredibly rewarding to make a positive difference in people's lives and assist them with achieving their goals! 🌟
What is your favourite part of working at Active Social? Yaz: It is hard narrowing it down to just one! I love kicking off the day with a great workout to help our participants feel strong, being out in the community engaging in group activities, watching clients master new skills, and building genuine friendships with both participants and the team. 🏋️♀️
What are you known for? Yaz: I am known for my crazy, curly hair, always smiling, and having a happy, patient, and empathetic personality. I always try to bring reliability, respect, and great attention to detail into everything I do. 😊
Favourite activity to run or attend? Yaz: Heading into Newcastle Beach with the team. Great company, sunshine, and saltwater! ☀️
What’s life like outside of AS? Yaz: I am 26 and love spending quality time with my dog Ziggy, my fiancé, friends, and family. My hobbies include interior styling, gym workouts, cooking, and travelling around the world. ✈️ When it comes to coffee, I enjoy a delicious cappuccino on a normal day, or an iced latte when it is hot! ☕
