Yeah, I know, it's been a while since I posted anything... A lot has happened. I've been going back and forth for a long time about whether I should start baking in Australia.
Baking is my everything. I absolutely love it. If you've been following me for a while, you know that I had a cake shop in Hungary, which I opened after I left my corporate finance job.
This was my dream... But after I opened my cake shop, life hit me hard - I was diagnosed with autoimmune diseases. Of course, it took a long time to get the diagnosis. That was 10 years ago now.
So why I am bringing this up? Well, the truth is, I was afraid to start baking again because I was scared the disease might come back... Even though I know it wasn't the baking that caused it, it had built up over the years before that - eating not well, no sleep, stress, etc. But it held me back on some level. At least for a while.π
And yeeees, I won, I've started baking again here in Australia, and no, my symptoms haven't come back, in fact, I feel even better. I love it. I'm doing workshops, making gf cakes and cookies, I've just signed up for a market, and I'm full of plans...
Of course, Healing Habits is still going strong because it's part of my healing journey, and it's helping others tooπ
So if you see me baking and running baking workshops, it's not because I'm crazy ( just a little bit π€ͺ), but because I need this in my life, it's my passion, it always has been, it is a form of therapy...π
And if anyone asks how I can be both pastry chef and a nutritionist, I simply answer: because both of them are who I am, I love both. β€οΈ Why should I have to choose?
Additionally, I truly believe that healthy eating can absolutely include cakes, too. π
So, I'll continue from here. Thank you for reading this long post and staying with me on this journey π β€οΈ π
