We are so please to announce that we have a PhD SCHOLARSHIP available for from Adelaide University Robinson Research Institute
Artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly important in healthcare, yet most clinical AI systems have been developed and validated using limited patient populations. Endometriosis often begins during adolescence, providing a unique opportunity to understand how AI-assisted diagnosis can be safely and equitably implemented across different stages of life. Leveraging the IMAGENDO and AD-IMAGENDO research programs, this PhD will investigate how AI-assisted diagnosis can be evaluated and adapted across adolescent and adult populations to generate the evidence needed for safe clinical implementation. By strengthening clinical decision-making and informing equitable implementation, the project will help shape future models of AI-assisted diagnosis for endometriosis and establish new approaches for responsible AI adoption in women’s health.

Our research leader Mary Louise Hull recently spoke at an endometriosis fundraising event. There she reflected on the change in awareness over her long career.

From people having no idea what endo was to the wide awareness we now have- all that’s to the work of people with endo demanding better 💕
And more importantly, with awareness is now coming the research funding we desperately need to improve lives

Health and Stigma

The project aims to investigate health perception, and stigma (socially negative feelings or experiences) including menstrual stigma, as well as internalised and experienced stigma, in people who have experienced a menstrual period.

We are particularly interested in women with endometriosis and/or coeliac disease and hope that results of this study will contribute to improving women’s healthcare.

You qualify for this survey if you:

-Currently reside in Australia
-Are over the age of 18
-Have experienced a menstrual period

Participation involves a 10-15 minute survey.

We're seeking girls aged 10-19 years in South Australia who have been diagnosed with PCOS / PMOS to participate in our research study.
Participants will be invited to complete questionnaires about their health, wellbeing, and experiences with PCOS / PMOS. The questionnaires take only 10 minutes to complete.

Education is front and centre for IMAGENDO because improving access to high-quality endometriosis ultrasound starts with building a skilled and confident workforce.

We are so proud of our masters student Allison Mander who today present a workshop of on how to simplify and endometriosis assessment at the conference. This workshops was one of the largest workshops at this conference.

As this was Allison’s first time presenting, Alison Deslandes was presenting with her to support but was unfortunately unable to attend at the last minute. but we are incredibly grateful to our Sydney based collaborator Professor George Condous for stepping in to support the workshop and share his expertise with participants.

Every sonographer trained, every clinician educated, and every service improved helps bring quality endometriosis imaging to more people who need it. Seeing research translated into real-world improvement in endo diagnosis is exactly what IMAGENDO is all about.
