Heading down the IVF path? Read this 👇🏽

One of the biggest misconceptions about IVF is that everything that could affect your chances of success has already been investigated 🤨

Sometimes that’s true.

Majority of the time there are still pieces of the puzzle that haven’t been explored, optimised or connected yet.

Over the years, I’ve worked with many couples who were preparing for IVF and discovered there were important factors that deserved further investigation first.

Things like:
• thyroid dysfunction or thyroid antibodies
• suboptimal nutrient levels
• s***m DNA fragmentation and male factor concerns
• inflammation, gut health or microbiome imbalances
• blood sugar dysregulation and insulin resistance

This doesn’t mean IVF won’t work.
It doesn’t mean you should delay treatment.

It simply means that taking the time to understand your fertility from every angle can help you create the strongest possible foundation before heading into an IVF cycle.

The goal is to make sure you’ve explored all the factors that can influence egg health, s***m quality, embryo development, implantation and pregnancy outcomes.

Irregular cycles can be so frustrating when you’re TTC 😵‍💫

They are often a sign that your reproductive system isn’t receiving the signals it needs to ovulate consistently.

Because the truth is, ovulation doesn’t just happen automatically.

Your brain and body are constantly assessing whether there’s enough energy, safety and support available to reproduce and sustain a pregnancy 🤍

This is why irregular cycles are often about so much more than “just hormones”

Some of the most common drivers I see include:
👉 under-fuelling + nutrient gaps
👉 blood sugar dysregulation
👉 thyroid dysfunction
👉 chronic stress + nervous system overload
👉 poor sleep or excessive exercise
👉 inadequate carbohydrate intake
👉 low energy availability
👉 underlying conditions that haven’t been properly investigated (PCOS, hypothalamic amenorrhea, thyroid dysfunction, POI, perimenopause)

Often it’s not one single thing.
It’s usually a combination of stressors quietly adding up over time 💛

That’s also why generic advice rarely fixes the problem.

Long cycles, delayed ovulation, missing periods, low progesterone, irregular bleeding, fatigue, poor sleep, low libido or feeling cold aren’t “random” symptoms ❌

TTC in your 30s can feel like you’re constantly being reminded that time is running out ⏰

And while the focus is generally centered around age and pressures associated with a ticking biological clock, there’s so much more to the narrative.

The stress that never fully switches off. The nervous system that’s always on . The meals eaten on the go. The cycle that didn’t return the way you expected after coming off the pill. The thyroid issue nobody picked up. The nutrient deficiencies that have been sitting there quietly for years 😵‍💫

So many women are navigating all of this at once while being told their age is the main thing to worry about.

It’s not the full story.

The sound of advice that completely misses the point 😵‍💫

“Have you tried just eating healthier and taking a prenatal?” 🙃

As only resolving fertility issues were that simple!

The women I work with have usually already done all of that. They’ve cleaned up their diet, researched supplements for hours, tracked everything, and tried so hard to do all the “right” things 🤍

Yes, nutrition matters.
Yes, a quality prenatal matters.

But fertility is rarely as simple as one isolated factor.

It’s often the result of multiple body systems interacting and influencing each other. Hormones, ovulation, blood sugar regulation, inflammation, gut health, thyroid function, nutrient status, stress, sleep, s***m health, immune function… all influencing the environment the body is working within 🌸

This is why taking a whole body approach is so important.
Because you can be eating well and still have underlying factors affecting egg quality, implantation, cycle health, energy production, or overall reproductive function.

The women who come to me aren’t struggling because they forgot to eat vegetables or take a prenatal 🫶
