It's been a while since we've done some advocacy training. So whether you're interested in improving birth in your local area, across your state or nationally (they're often intertwined though), these sessions will be full of easy-to-action steps to start you on your advocacy journey.

Alecia (our Director and Media spokesperson) has been involved in this space for over a decade, has worked on the National Maternity Strategy, presented at the Stillbirth Inquiry and helped inform the plan, she ran an 18 month state-wide media campaign to help improve rural birthing options for women in Queensland, she worked on the Medicare for Midwives Reference Group and Implementation Liaison Group, she's worked on Maternity Guidelines, and consistently meets with MPs to lobby for change. She's been part of 2 award nominated journalism pieces on maternity issues, has written many questions for Federal Estimates over the last 4 years, and has helped with our submissions to State-based inquiries into maternity services.

It'll be well worth your time investment to listen in on what she has to say and her guidance for you.
