What if “woo woo” and science aren’t as far apart as we think? ✨🔬
A lot of my clients come to me and say:
“I don’t really understand chakras.”
or
“I’m just not sure I believe in them.”
And honestly? That’s okay. ❤️
You don’t have to believe in chakras to explore what they represent.
For thousands of years, different healing traditions have mapped energy centres throughout the body. Today, when we look at those same general areas through a modern physiological lens, we find something fascinating…
🧠 Nervous system pathways
🦋 Endocrine glands
🩸 Blood supply and circulation
🫀 Organs and tissues
⚡ Electrical activity and signalling
🧬 Hormonal communication
Take the throat chakra, for example.
Traditionally, it’s associated with communication, expression and the ability to speak your truth.
Physiologically, the same region contains the thyroid gland, important nerves and blood vessels, and structures involved in regulating metabolism and communication throughout the body.
Is that proof that a chakra causes thyroid disease?
No.
And this distinction matters.
But does it make the traditional framework interesting enough to explore alongside what we know about physiology?
Absolutely.
This is where I love bringing the two worlds together.
✨ Energy + physiology
✨ Ancient wisdom + modern understanding
✨ Mind + nervous system + body
✨ The “woo woo” + the science
Because your body isn’t just a collection of isolated organs.
Everything communicates.
Your brain communicates with your hormones.
Your nervous system communicates with your organs.
Your emotions can influence your physiology.
Your environment can influence your biology.
So maybe we don’t need to choose between “woo woo” and science.
Maybe we can stay curious about both.
You don’t have to believe everything.
You just have to be willing to ask better questions. 🌿
That’s the space I love working in.
