What if “woo woo” and science aren’t as far apart as we think? ✨🔬

A lot of my clients come to me and say:

“I don’t really understand chakras.”
or
“I’m just not sure I believe in them.”

And honestly? That’s okay. ❤️

You don’t have to believe in chakras to explore what they represent.

For thousands of years, different healing traditions have mapped energy centres throughout the body. Today, when we look at those same general areas through a modern physiological lens, we find something fascinating…

🧠 Nervous system pathways
🦋 Endocrine glands
🩸 Blood supply and circulation
🫀 Organs and tissues
⚡ Electrical activity and signalling
🧬 Hormonal communication

Take the throat chakra, for example.

Traditionally, it’s associated with communication, expression and the ability to speak your truth.

Physiologically, the same region contains the thyroid gland, important nerves and blood vessels, and structures involved in regulating metabolism and communication throughout the body.

Is that proof that a chakra causes thyroid disease?

No.

And this distinction matters.

But does it make the traditional framework interesting enough to explore alongside what we know about physiology?

Absolutely.

This is where I love bringing the two worlds together.

✨ Energy + physiology
✨ Ancient wisdom + modern understanding
✨ Mind + nervous system + body
✨ The “woo woo” + the science

Because your body isn’t just a collection of isolated organs.

Everything communicates.

Your brain communicates with your hormones.
Your nervous system communicates with your organs.
Your emotions can influence your physiology.
Your environment can influence your biology.

So maybe we don’t need to choose between “woo woo” and science.

Maybe we can stay curious about both.

You don’t have to believe everything.
You just have to be willing to ask better questions. 🌿

That’s the space I love working in.

✨ Your health is an investment, not an expense.

We’re often so busy looking after everyone else that our own health gets pushed to the bottom of the list.

But your body is with you for life. ❤️

Investing in your health doesn’t have to mean making huge changes overnight. Sometimes it’s simply:

🌿 Nourishing your body with foods that support you
💧 Drinking more water
😴 Prioritising quality sleep
🧘‍♀️ Giving your nervous system time to slow down
🚶‍♀️ Moving your body regularly
🩺 Listening to the signs your body is giving you
💛 Asking for support when you need it

The goal isn’t to wait until your body is struggling before you start paying attention.

Small choices made consistently today can help create a healthier tomorrow.

Your health is worth investing in. 🌿

What your GP hears when you say…
“I’m also working with a naturopath.” 😂

GP: “Oh… okay.” 👀

What you said:
🌿 “I’m looking at my health from a whole-body perspective.”

What your GP hears:
🔮 “I’ve joined a secret herbal cult.”

What you said:
🥦 “We’re working on nutrition and lifestyle.”

What your GP hears:
🥬 “I’ve stopped eating anything that comes in a packet.”

What you said:
🧘‍♀️ “We’re working on stress and nervous system regulation.”

What your GP hears:
✨ “I now meditate beside crystals and talk to my chakras.”

What you said:
💊 “We’re reviewing my supplements.”

What your GP hears:
💥 “I’m taking 47 supplements and nobody knows what any of them do.”

😂😂😂

But here’s the truth…

Naturopaths and GPs don’t have to be enemies.

There’s room for both.

Your GP can investigate, diagnose and manage medical conditions, prescribe medications and arrange important testing.

Your naturopath can help you explore nutrition, lifestyle, stress, sleep, digestion and other foundations of health alongside appropriate medical care.

The goal?

Not “GP vs naturopath.”

It’s TEAM YOU. ❤️

Because sometimes the best healthcare decision is having the right practitioners working with you — and, ideally, with each other.

🌿✨

Your nervous system doesn’t regulate because you want it to.

It regulates when you repeatedly show your body that it is safe.

And sometimes that means changing the things you’ve been using to cope.

Small changes.
Consistent habits.
Less stimulation.
More connection with your body.

Your body is always communicating with you.

The question is… are you listening? 🌿

✨ This is where naturopathy + kinesiology can help you understand what your body may be asking for.

This may sound a little woo… but I’m kind of here for it.

I’m about to begin a Goddess Reset Transformation Journey, using the Five Elements to explore the body, the mind, and some of the things that can sit underneath the surface for years.

The idea is to start noticing the clues: where we may be depleted, where we may be overdoing it, what needs more support, what needs to soften. And then there is the deeper work—looking at the old beliefs that might be keeping us in the same loops.

Something about it feels both ancient and really relevant right now.

I’m going in with an open mind and I’ll share bits as I go.

If you are curious enough to want a peek, comment CURIOUS or message me and I’ll send over the details for the private event.

WORK–LIFE BALANCE… does it really exist? 🌿✨

For so many of us, life feels like a constant juggle…

Work.
Family.
Appointments.
School activities.
Housework.
Meals.
Relationships.
And somewhere in there… trying to find time for ourselves! 🤯

But maybe work–life balance isn’t about doing everything perfectly or giving equal time to every part of our lives.

Maybe it’s about being present where you are, learning when to say no, and remembering that you don’t have to earn the right to rest. 💛

Some days work will need more of you.
Some days your family will.
And some days… YOU need to come first.

Balance isn’t perfection. It’s constantly adjusting, listening to your body and recognising when things are becoming too much.

✨ Rest without guilt.
✨ Protect your energy.
✨ Make time for what fills your cup.
✨ Remember that a healthy life includes a healthy mind, body and lifestyle.

You are allowed to slow down. 🌿

What is one thing you could do this week to create a little more balance in your life? 💛

🌿 Have you heard of Moxibustion? 🔥

Moxibustion is a beautiful traditional therapy that uses the warmth of mugwort (moxa) to gently warm specific areas and acupuncture points on the body.

✨ Some of the benefits may include:

🔥 Supporting circulation and blood flow
💪 Helping relax tight, tense muscles
🦴 Supporting stiff, achy joints
🌿 Encouraging the body’s natural healing processes
🧘 Helping reduce feelings of tension and discomfort
❄️ Bringing warmth to areas that feel cold or restricted

The gentle, penetrating heat can feel incredibly soothing and relaxing, making it a beautiful addition to a holistic treatment for muscle tension, joint stiffness and overall wellbeing. 💛

Sometimes, the body simply needs a little warmth to help it soften, move and restore. 🔥🌿

Have you ever experienced the warmth of moxibustion? ✨

✨ GET TO KNOW ME 🌿

Hi, I’m Leonie 👋🏼
The face behind Leonie Kowald Naturopathy.

I thought it was time to share a little more about the person behind the business… because health is personal, and I believe connection matters. ❤️

🌿 I’m a naturopath and I’m also studying kinesiology.

👩‍👧‍👧 I’m a mum of three girls — so yes, life in our house can be BUSY! 😂

❤️ I absolutely love helping people understand their bodies and giving them practical tools to take back control of their health.

✨ I’m fascinated by the connection between the physical, emotional, mental and energetic sides of our health.

🧠 I’m naturally curious — I’m always learning, researching and asking “but why?”

🌱 I believe there isn’t always a one-size-fits-all approach to health. What works for one person may not work for another.

💫 And I’m passionate about helping people realise that their symptoms are often their body trying to communicate with them — not something to simply silence or ignore.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, watching my girls do their thing, getting outdoors, travelling, or enjoying a little adventure.

And one thing you might not know about me…

I didn’t start this journey because I had all the answers. I started because I wanted to understand more — about health, the body and why sometimes we can feel “off” even when we’re told everything is fine.

That curiosity has grown into a passion for helping others.

So now it’s your turn… 👇🏼

Tell me something about YOU!
Where are you from, what do you do, or what’s one thing you love? 💕

🌿 What to expect in a kinesiology session with me

1. We start with you
We’ll talk about what’s happening for you right now — your symptoms, concerns, emotions, stress levels and what you’d like support with. There’s no need to have everything figured out beforehand.

2. We identify what your body is asking for
Using muscle testing, I work with your body’s responses to explore areas that may need attention. This might include physical, nutritional, emotional or energetic factors.

3. We look beyond the symptom
Rather than simply asking “What’s wrong?”, we can explore questions such as:

* What is creating stress in the body?
* Is there an emotional component?
* Are there nutritional or lifestyle factors involved?
* What might be keeping you stuck?
* What does your body need to feel more balanced?

4. We work with what comes up
Depending on what we uncover, your session may incorporate techniques such as energy balancing, acupressure/meridian work, emotional release techniques, breathing, visualisation or other kinesiology techniques.

5. You remain in control
You don’t have to disclose anything you’re uncomfortable discussing. The session is collaborative, and we work at a pace that feels right for you.

6. You leave with something practical
The aim isn’t just to have an interesting session and walk out the door. We look at what you can take away — whether that’s a simple lifestyle change, nutritional support, an emotional practice, or something else that fits your individual needs.

✨ Most importantly…

You don’t need to know why you’re feeling the way you do before you come.

You just need to know that something doesn’t feel quite right.

My role is to create a safe space to slow down, listen to your body and explore what might be underneath the surface — while supporting you to understand yourself and your health on a deeper level.
