New Moon, June 14 2026 πβ¨
The sky goes dark again.
No silver.
No reflection.
No illumination.
Just the beginning.
The New Moon has always held a special place in witchcraft, not as a phase of absence, but as a phase of unseen creation. Long before clocks and calendars, people watched the disappearing Moon and understood something important.
Life does not begin in the light.
It begins in the dark.
Seeds are buried.
Roots form underground.
Intentions gather strength before becoming visible.
That is the energy of the New Moon.
A lunar reset.
A sacred pause between what has completed and what has not yet arrived.
Unlike the Full Moon, which reveals, amplifies, and brings energy outward, the New Moon turns everything inward. It asks for quiet. Reflection. Intention. Choice.
This is not harvest magic.
This is planting magic.
In witchcraft, New Moons have long been associated with manifestation, intention setting, candle magic, sigils, spellwork, shadow work, altar renewal, divination, road opening rituals, protection workings, dream magic, and beginning cycles.
This phase is often worked with for:
Calling in opportunities.
Creating new habits.
Starting magical practices.
Building abundance.
Strengthening self-worth.
Setting long-term intentions.
This is a Moon for becoming.
If you want to work with this energy, try this New Moon Seed Ritual.
Take a candle in white, black, silver, or green.
Take a bowl of soil or a small plant.
Write down three things you want to grow over the next lunar cycle.
Not outcomes.
Qualities.
Write things like courage, consistency, trust, confidence, creativity, peace, abundance, visibility.
Light the candle.
Read each intention aloud.
Then place the paper beneath the soil or under the plant and say:
βWhat is unseen may strengthen.
What is planted may grow.
What is aligned may find me.β
Water the soil.
Keep the plant alive through the cycle as a living symbol of your intention.
Watch what changes.
Watch what grows.
The New Moon never looks powerful from the outside and that is exactly why witches respect it.
The quiet phases create the loudest transformations. πβ¨
