Tuesday Good News Story: Andreas Building Confidence in the Community

Andreas has been making great progress towards his NDIS goals with Ancora National by continuing to visit new places and community locations that he may not have explored before. Through these experiences, Andreas has been working on overcoming uncomfortable situations, building confidence, and strengthening his social and communication skills.

Over the past two weeks, Andreas successfully visited Munno Para Shopping Centre, where he explored several stores and engaged in positive interactions with staff members. These opportunities allowed him to practise communicating with others in a retail environment while becoming more comfortable in busy community settings.

Every new interaction is helping Andreas build the confidence and skills needed for greater independence and future employment opportunities. His willingness to step outside of his comfort zone and embrace new experiences has been outstanding.

We are honestly very proud of you, Andreas. Your effort, determination, and growth have been fantastic to see. Well done on all your hard work, and keep up the amazing progress

Good News Friday at Ancora National

This week, we are celebrating Omer, who has been working incredibly hard towards securing a role in accounting.
At Ancora National, we are committed to supporting our participants throughout their entire employment journey.

Vashek worked closely with Omer to build his confidence by reviewing job descriptions and conducting mock interviews to help him feel fully prepared.
Omer did an outstanding job during his mock interviews, showing great improvement, professionalism, and confidence every step of the way. It was clear that his hard work and dedication were paying off.

We are excited to share that Omer has now completed his interview and is currently awaiting the outcome. This is a fantastic achievement, and we couldn't be prouder of the effort he has put in.

Tuesday Success Story: Ariyana’s First Paid Job!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate a huge milestone for Ariyana, who has recently secured her very first paid employment role in hospitality.

With the support of Ancora National and her dedicated support worker, Shamika, Ariyana worked hard towards her goal by completing a Barista Course with Soaring Together.

Through her determination and willingness to learn, she gained new skills, confidence, and the belief that she could succeed in the workforce.
Thanks to her commitment and hard work, Ariyana has now landed a casual position assisting at a cafe during events.

Seeing her excitement and pride in this achievement has been just as rewarding for us as it has been for her.

This is a fantastic example of how confidence, support, and perseverance can create amazing opportunities. Congratulations, Ariyana we are so proud of everything you have achieved and are excited to see you continue to grow, with your sights already set on finding a second job.

Good News Friday: Chloe's Mini Golf Adventure!

At Ancora National, we believe that every new experience is an opportunity for growth, confidence, and achievement.
Recently, we had the pleasure of taking Chloe on a social outing to Holey Moley for a game of mini golf. While it was certainly a fun day filled with laughter and friendly competition, the outing was about so much more than just having fun.
This experience provided Chloe with the opportunity to:
Try a new activity
Build confidence in unfamiliar environments
Develop social and communication skills
Practice ordering and engaging with staff independently
Step outside of her comfort zone in a supportive setting

As you can see from the smiles on her face, Chloe embraced the experience wholeheartedly. She had an amazing time, interacted confidently with staff, enjoyed the mini golf challenges, and even walked away with a prize.

We are incredibly proud of Chloe for giving something new a go and making the most of every moment. Watching her confidence grow and seeing her enjoy herself so much reminds us why these community based experiences are so important.

Good News Friday
At Ancora National, capacity building is all about developing new skills, building confidence, and creating opportunities for greater independence.
This week, we are celebrating Michael, who recently took part in a fun and engaging cooking activity at home with the support of Chantal. Together, they made a delicious homemade pizza, giving Michael the opportunity to practise valuable life skills such as following instructions, preparing ingredients, making choices, and working safely in the kitchen.

Learning new skills through everyday activities is a great way to build confidence and independence, and Michael did an amazing job embracing the challenge.

Good News Friday: Celebrating Logan's 1 Year Milestone at Coles!

At Ancora National, we love sharing stories of success, and this Good News Friday we are celebrating an incredible achievement by Logan, who has officially completed one year of employment with Coles!

Reaching a year of employment is a fantastic milestone and reflects Logan's dedication, commitment, and hard work. Over the past 12 months, Logan has continued to show up, work hard, and build his skills in the workplace.
This achievement is something he should be immensely proud of.
A special mention also goes to Brenton, who has been supporting Logan throughout his employment journey.

From daily encouragement and assistance with routines to supporting workplace tasks and maintaining employment, Brenton has been there every step of the way. Feel Good Friday Story

We love celebrating moments that show what’s possible when passion, determination, and the right support come together.

Nathaniel has always enjoyed exploring buses and transport, and recently discovered a growing passion for radio. Together, Nathaniel and his support worker Cassie worked hard to connect with the right people and turn that interest into a real life opportunity.

Their efforts led to an incredible behind-the-scenes radio station tour with Ben & Liam, where Nathaniel was able to learn about the industry, ask questions, and explore potential employment and volunteering opportunities.
The highlight of the day wasn't just the tour, it was seeing Nathaniel's excitement, confidence, and genuine joy as he experienced something he had been dreaming about.

Moments like these remind us that sometimes a single opportunity can create memories that last a lifetime and inspire someone to think bigger about their future.
