The Lazy Nutritionist Wholesome Healthy Food, for the People that Can't Be Bothered

Instagram: thelazy_nutritionist Welcome! I am Leisha, the Lazy Nutritionist!

I am a clinical nutritionist that understands that making changes, no matter how small or large, is hard work and my treatment plans are individualised to cater for those people who know they need to make changes but struggle to find the motivation or lack the tools and strategies to make those necessary changes happen. Like any health professional, I have special interest areas and these are:
- G

ut
- Digestion
- Thyroid
- Drug/Nutrient Interactions
And a particular interest in:
- Skin! Skin conditions, particularly eczema, psoriasis and acne, are my forte. I can speak from lots of personal experience when it comes to treating eczema (particularly steroid-induced eczema and topical steroid withdrawal) as I have had these myself. For booking appointments call or text:

This got a bit of love in my stories, so I thought it deserved a place on the feed.

If you’re not listening and following and you’re a parent/teacher/allied health/grandparent/aunty/uncle/anyone who spends regular time with kids, whether you have your own or not, you should put them in your listening cycle. It’ll challenge how you relate to children, and yourself, for the better. The best free resource available.

And I’m a little star struck they reposted my story 🥹

Happy New Year! Here, have a visual representation of what it’s like to breastfeed.
Also, when a recipe asks for one onion, are you a lefty or right side “one onion” person.🤔 let me know below ⬇️

✨ now practicing from Gum Medical Centre in Gumeracha on Saturday mornings! ✨

I’m doing it! I’m launching back into clinical practice and bringing nutrition services to the beautiful Adelaide Hills! 🤩

I’m really excited to be heading on this journey and joining the team at Gum Medical, who are all lovely and supportive. 😌

I love the idea of bringing a nutrition service to a more country area. I understand the struggle of accessing a variety of healthcare services when you’re a bit out of the city, as my family are located on the Yorke Peninsula, where it’s always been a struggle to access services.

I’m hoping my new face-to-face location brings new tools and health to the people in the area.

I’m also offering Telehealth on Tuesdays and Thursdays!

You can book online, but if you have any issues, questions or queries, you can message me here, or send me an email at [email protected]

I look foreword to seeing you in practice soon 🥹

I am now offering face to face appointments on Saturday mornings from Gum Medical in gorgeous Gumeracha in the Adelaide hills!

A beautiful practice and I’m so excited to start working alongside all of the staff and everyone in the community 🥰

WELCOME! A new service now available at Gum Medical 😄 :
Hi, I'm Leisha I'm a Certified Practicing Nutritionist (CPN) and high school teacher now offering clinical nutrition therapy services on Saturday mornings from 15th November.
I've been an CPN for nearly 10 years now, seeing patients over those years alongside teaching and having two children. Now, I'm stepping back into a clinical role hoping to help people through nutrition, testing and supplementation (when necessary). I've always had a passion for bringing services to areas further out of town, as the majority of my family live on the Southern Yorke Pensinula and I've seen how hard it can be to access quality care. Like many CPNs, my own health has been a battle. From chronic skin conditions, allergies, autoimmunity and gut issues, I've experienced what it's like to have multiple things going all at once and feeling lost in the fog. I've always had a passion for health and I think having this personal experience has given me unique insight into how important building something that works with you, not against you, is for long-term health.
I have a special interest in allergic conditions, autoimmunity, chronic fatigue, ADHD and mental health conditions, but I've worked successfully with patients on multiple medications and complex conditions, finding novel ways to help support health.
If you'd like to make an appointment, or organise a quick chat to see what we could do, send me an email with your best contact details and we can go from there.

With my slow integration back into the world of clinical nutrition, meal planning is back on!

Here are my main staples at the moment: meatballs in tomato sauce bake, some bolognese from the big family batch I did and slow-cooked pulled lamb for breakfasts. Sides are cooked leek in garlic and butter and fried broccolini - some of my most favourite vegetables 😍

I’m also in the process of detoxing our food storage. Over the past four years of having children, I’ve done lots of reading and professional development and one of my goals is to completely rid us of plastic containers, starting with containers we freeze and heat our food in. All plastic containers leech chemicals into food, especially when heated, and these impacts build up in our bodies, and it’s particularly important for young boys to avoid, so I want to do that for mine.

These silicone containers have been awesome for making homemade freezer meals in, totally ready to go and way more stylish than anything I’ve got at the moment 😎

Get good quality food-grade silicone and/or freezer safe glass for heatable, home done, loooow tox frozen meals!

✨ 3 MEALS OVER 3 DAYS ✨

A lot of these things are a throw together; I like to keep things easy.

My super simple salmon, avocado, cream cheese, touch of olive oil and lemon juice, salt and pepper. Super filling, full of healthy fats, keto/low carb friendly. Fabulous for the blood sugar 🩸

One of my staples at the moment is actually sausages. Now, a good sausage is really no different than having any other ground up meat. Just be sure to check for fillers, odd flavourings and seed oils - I’ve noticed chicken sausages are often way more full of bulking agents and seed oils. These beef sausages are just a mid tier supermarket brand, no seed oils or weird fillings, which I’ve been super impressed by.

Lots of what I have in the fridge are pickled items as well. Pickled onions are a favourite, but I’ve also had pickled carrots and sauerkraut in these. Always topped with olive oil, salt and pepper for my liking.

Having stuff ready in the fridge to throw together is a lifesaver for my appetite. I’m such a protein girl and if I don’t have a high protein first meal, I’m staaaaaaarving for the rest of the day!

Did any of these give you inspiration? Let me know below 👇

Eating a .nutrition beef bar with some cheese and homemade guacamole to tide me over until dinner 😋

It’s been a hectic couple of weeks, with the baby having hand foot and mouth disease from childcare, and recovering sleep and rest from then!

Love being able to have these beef bars handy when I really need them 👌

My wee one is on the mend from his bout of HFM, so here’s a meme I liked in the meantime 😄
