JBI celebrates Peer Review Week by recognising outstanding peer reviewer for the JBI Evidence Synthesis journal, Dr Christine Huel, Assistant Professor at the University of Saskatchewan College of Nursing. 🎉

The 2026 theme is ‘Peer Review Capacity: Volume, Speed, and Quality'.

"Peer review depends on reciprocity, with authors contributing reviews as well as submitting manuscripts. To improve balance and participation, practical incentives should recognise reviewer contributions in tenure and promotion decisions.

Journals could provide metrics that acknowledge high-quality reviews, and graduate programs could offer training and guidance to prepare students for effective participation in the peer review process." - Dr Huel

MEET THE SPEAKERS 💥 Professor Arash Rashidian will join us online at JBI iGNITE 2026 this September.

His plenary is titled “Living Evidence Synthesis, Artificial Intelligence, and the Future for Evidence-Based Decision Making”.

Since 2015, Professor Rashidian has led the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean’s work across evidence-informed policymaking, health information systems, digital health, research promotion and knowledge sharing.

With more than 25 years of experience in health policy research and health system development, he is also Affiliate Professor at the University of Washington, Professor of Health Policy at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Vice-Chair of WHO’s Guideline Review Committee and Executive Editor of the Eastern Mediterranean Health Journal.
