When children stand to draw, they strengthen their core and jaw stability, important foundations for clearer speech. Big arm movements also help the brain communicate across both sides, supporting sequencing, planning, and language development.

We pushed for more time. The Senate Inquiry into the proposed NDIS Amendment (Securing the NDIS for Future Generations) Bill 2026 has now extended submissions until close of business (COB) Monday 1 June 2026.

Three extra days is welcome. But let’s be clear: that is still not genuine, accessible consultation for legislation that will significantly change how people access and use the NDIS.

People with disability deserve time to read, understand and respond to legislation this significant.
