Burns lead to a loss of protein and essential trace nutrients such as vitamins and minerals. Surgery increases the need for zinc, vitamin E and other nutrients involved in the cellular repair mechanism and prescribed supplementation should be taken as part of a healthy pre and post-surgical recovery program. The repair of broken bones will be re****ed by an inadequate supply of calcium and vitamin C. ZINC – Why More Is Not Better

STOP TAKING ZINC‼️

Why more is not better.

I am seeing a disturbing trend whereby different health professionals are prescribing higher and higher zinc doses to correct low zinc levels or to lower high copper levels. Whilst the intent is good, the method is NOT!!

- ZINC FACT: Your body has NO storage depot for zinc. No simple blood test. All regulation happens in the gut.

- At-risk: Vegans, kids, pregnant women, elderly, and MEN (need 14 mg/day vs 8 mg for women).

- First dose of 20 mg → ~11 mg absorbed (max).

- Same dose next day → ~7 mg absorbed.

- By day 6 → ~5 mg or less.

- Stop/block lasts 3–5 days. Daily dosing = diminishing returns.

- What's left behind? From 30 mg dose → 19 mg unabsorbed zinc in the gut → reduces microbial diversity & can feed Clostridia difficile .

Better approach: for repletion . Take less than 20mg daily or of taking higher doses , take every 3 to 5 days
