What a weekend in Adelaide 🌸 Sunshine, warmer air, and so many people (including me!) out in their gardens. After months of grey skies, it felt so good to soak up some much-needed vitamin D.
As a chiropractor, I can’t help but think about what that sunshine is doing for our bones, mood, and energy. Vitamin D is the key that helps your body absorb calcium, without it, bones can become weaker over time. For women, that’s especially important once we hit our 30s and bone density naturally starts to decline.
The challenge is… many of us come out of winter with low vitamin D levels. Shorter days, more time indoors, and less sun on our skin all add up. That’s why spring is the perfect time to top up naturally and reset those levels for the months ahead.
☀️ In Adelaide, 10–15 minutes of sun on your arms and face, a few times a week, is often enough. A coffee break outside might be doing more for your health than you realise!
There’s more to the story though; food sources, barriers, and why women need to pay particular attention to their vitamin D levels.
