There are so many little things we’ve somehow decided are measures of whether we’re doing health “properly”.

So let me remind you that;

✨ You don’t need perfect posture.

✨ You don’t need to hit 10,000 steps every day.

✨ You don’t need to have done every exercise I gave you.

✨ You don’t need to do everything I say.

✨ And you definitely don’t need to be able to touch your toes.

I’m much more interested in you. 😉

Are you moving? Are you getting stronger? Are you feeling better? Are we making progress towards the things that actually matter in your life?

Health isn’t a checklist, and there are no bonus points for being the perfect patient.

So come as you are. I promise, I’m not keeping score. ☺️🌸💚

Although doing some of your exercises would be nice. 😂

There’s a point in pregnancy where “just get comfortable” starts to sound like slightly ridiculous advice. 😂

Your body is changing, your bump is bigger, the position that worked a few weeks ago may suddenly not work at all… and turning over in bed has somehow become an event.

So if sleep is feeling a little more complicated at 34 weeks, you don’t necessarily need one magical pregnancy pillow or the “perfect” set-up.

Sometimes it’s simply about experimenting with support until you find what feels comfortable for YOUR body right now.

Swipe through for a few places those 47 pillows on your bed might actually be useful. 😂

And maybe save this one for bedtime.

Today we lost Dolly Parton. 🤍

There will be so much said about the songs, the rhinestones, the hair and that unmistakable laugh. But I think Dolly showed women something much bigger.

💎 That you could be strong without becoming hard.

💎 That you could be ambitious and still generous.

💎 Successful and still make room for others.

💎 Confident enough to laugh at yourself.

💎 Brave enough to dream bigger than the life you were born into.

She opened doors, and then seemed to spend a lifetime holding them open for others. And perhaps that’s why so many of her words went far beyond country music. They were funny, wise, occasionally cheeky and often exactly what you needed to hear.

These are just four of my favourites.

Thank you, Dolly, for showing generations of women that strength and softness were never opposites. And that there was absolutely nothing wrong with adding a little sparkle along the way. ✨

RIP Dolly 🤍

One of my favourite sessions at the ACA Big Tent conference last weekend was DR JOANNA MCMILLAN talking about fibre, gut health and something surprisingly simple: variety.

The idea of aiming for around 30 different plant foods across a week isn’t about becoming vegetarian, chasing a perfect diet or suddenly doubling your shopping list.

It’s really a reminder to look at what you already eat and think about where you could add a little more variety because it can make a huge difference to inflammation and your immune health.

Different vegetables, fruit, wholegrains, nuts, seeds, legumes, herbs and spices all add to the mix.

I’m definitely going to be counting mine this week. 😂

How many do you think you’d get? Come on be honest - put your numbers below! 😉🌸💚

After 26 years as a chiropractor, these are five things I think are worth the money. Not because you need the fanciest version, the most expensive brand or whatever Instagram has decided we all need this week, but because the right things can make looking after yourself that little bit easier.

Good shoes, something that helps you exercise, a pillow you actually sleep well on, a water bottle you’ll actually carry and health advice from someone qualified to give it.

Nothing particularly glamorous. Just things I think are genuinely worth investing in.

What would make your list? 🌸💚

Anyone else in Adelaide finding it MUCH harder to drink enough water while it’s this cold and wet? 🌧️

Nothing revolutionary happening here. I just keep it close, keep it visible and somehow it actually gets drunk.

Simple usually wins. 😉🌸

A new face… and one you probably should have seen here a long time ago. 😉

We’re very happy to welcome Caitlyn to The Bod Squad team. Caitlyn has joined us at reception and will be one of the friendly faces helping to keep everything running smoothly around the clinic.

Starting somewhere new always comes with a lot to learn, and she’s already settling beautifully into the slightly chaotic, always friendly world of The Bod Squad. You’ll be seeing plenty more of her around the clinic, so make sure you introduce yourself and say hello when you’re next in. We’re very happy to have her as part of the team.

And then there’s David.

David is definitely NOT new to The Bod Squad. He’s my husband and has been part of our family business from the very beginning, usually helping quietly behind the scenes and somehow managing to avoid appearing on our socials.

Until now. 🤣

The Bod Squad has always been a family business at heart, and as our team continues to change and grow, it feels rather nice to have both a brand new face and one of the originals officially represented.

Welcome Caitlyn… and welcome to Instagram, David. 💚🌸

Why am I so tired?

Why is it such a struggle to get through the day?

Fatigue is one of the most common complaints we see at the clinic, and it can be seriously debilitating.

A lot of the time, diet is overlooked as a cause or contributor.

Since food fuels us, what we eat, when we eat it, and how much can all influence our energy levels.

Underlying vitamin or mineral deficiencies could be to blame, or it might just be down to adjusting the balance of foods on your plate.

Sometimes we spend so much time planning and preparing food, that in itself makes fatigue worse!

If you’re struggling with fatigue, or want to make food an easier part of life, Deeni can help to investigate the underlying causes and strategise how to best fuel yourself to help you get through the day with ease. 🌸💚
