🚨 Last night was a powerful reminder of why our work matters.
More than 500 people gathered at Adelaide Oval for the sold-out Breakthrough's Men's Meals and Mental Health Dinner 2026, united by a shared commitment to improving men's mental health and preventing su***de.
The evening, themed 'Overcoming Adversity,' featured powerful and honest reflections from The Hon. Blair Boyer MP along with keynote presentations from award-winning journalist Ben Hyde and (Dr ) Gill Hicks AM MBE Hon.FRSA and valuable clinical insights from Breakthrough's Research Fellow in Su***de Prevention, Dr Ian Zajac.
Together, their perspectives challenged us to think about acceptance, embrace the positives, and recognise the importance of connection in navigating life's challenges.
A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, supporters, volunteers and contributors whose generosity, commitment and belief in our mission made the evening possible.
Thank you to the professionalism of our MC’s Jess Adamson, Andrew Hayes, Elders auctioneer Ben Finch and to the powerful sounds of Festival Statesmen Chorus, the generosity of the Adelaide Crows Supporters Group, See Differently with the Royal Society for the Blind, and everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to create such a memorable evening.
Every day in Australia, nine people die by su***de, seven of them men. That is why this work matters.
It is inspiring to see what can be achieved when people from all walks of life unite around the belief that mental health matters, knowing that even the smallest steps can lead to meaningful change.💜
