Small Change For Change

Small Change For Change Using your small change to dig wells in Africa. One in six people go without clean, safe drinking water. Fill a water bottle with small change.

Small Change for Change gives 100% of your small change to digging clean water wells in Africa. Every bit of your small change helps to make some big changes: like healthy children going to school, not staying home sick from drinking dirty water. Just 120 bottles full of change is enough to dig one well. One bottle gives clean water to one person for 20 years. We're so lucky in Australia to be abl

We are very excited to announce that our first lot of clean water projects have been completed! We would like to thank everyone who has supported Small Change for Change in any way, whether that be filling up bottles with loose change, volunteering for fundraisers, counting epic amounts of coins, labelling and distributing bottles or talking to your families and friends about the dirty water crisis. You should feel proud that your actions have changed the lives of many. We are grateful for your support and hope that you'll join us in the next stage of the journey. “Sometimes the litany of what is wrong makes us think that there’s nothing we can do about it.”

This evening I attended a lecture entitled ‘Women, Water and Technology’ given by Dr Musimbi Kanyoro, President and CEO of The Global Fund for Women. Dr Kanyoro shared stories of her childhood in Kenya, walking three miles as a 6 year-old to get water before school. She spoke of the many hours women and girls across the world spend collecting water each day and how this time could be spent at school or work. Dr Kanyoro spoke of simple solutions: she reminded us that water changes everything.

I’m thankful for the women of the world and I know that we can look beyond the "litany of what is wrong" in order to bring clean water to some of the world's poorest people. Little by little, we will create change.

Thanks for working with us.
Sharon, SCFC team.

In 2012, year 5/6 students at Vale Park Primary School raised an amazing $658.15 for clean water in Africa. Well done and thank you!

This morning we went to Vale Park Primary School to talk about the dirty water crisis and the kinds of action we can take to change the situation for those without access to clean water. We were so encouraged to meet inquisitive young people who are keen to make a difference. A room full of future leaders and world changers!

Keep adding coins to your small change bottle; as the Kenyan proverb says: little by little fills up the bowl.
