Endometriosis and Oestrogen Dominance - The Bigger Picture …
Endometriosis is becoming one of the most significant women’s health challenges of our time, yet it is rarely viewed through a broader metabolic lens. Oestrogen dominance is often described as ‘too much oestrogen’, and heightened oestrogen is a direct cause for endometriosis growth. However, in many cases, it’s not just about an excess; it’s about how the body is processing, clearing and responding to this hormone.
Heavy, painful periods, PMS, migraines, fluid retention and mood changes are often treated as isolated gynaecological issues. In reality, they are frequently downstream signs of deeper imbalance involving blood sugar regulation, liver and gut function, inflammation, and the nervous system. By the time endometriosis is diagnosed, the body has often been signalling dysfunction for years.
Hormonal suppression can reduce symptoms and is sometimes necessary but it does not correct the underlying drivers. This is why symptoms often return or shift when treatment stops.
Painful periods are not normal. They are information.
When we support the foundations of metabolic health, inflammation, digestive integrity and stress regulation; hormone balance becomes more sustainable.
