This Mother’s Day, we celebrate all the incredible mums in our St Basil’s community — our residents, families, staff, and volunteers.

Today is a chance to reflect on the love, strength and kindness that mothers share every day, shaping lives and creating lasting memories.

A special thank you to the mothers across St Basil’s who are working today, caring for our residents while spending time away from your own families. Your compassion and dedication mean so much and do not go unnoticed.

We also recognise that Mother’s Day can be a difficult time for many, and we are thinking of those who may be feeling this today.

🌸 Getting ready for Mother’s Day at Aegean Village 🌸

Some of our wonderful residents recently enjoyed a lovely outing to Bunnings, selecting pots, paints and flowers as they prepared something special for Mother’s Day.

There was plenty of creativity on display, with everyone embracing the chance to design and decorate their own pieces – all while enjoying a relaxed day out together.

A big thank you to the Bunnings Warehouse Australia team for looking after us and helping make the experience so enjoyable.

Moments like these are what Living Well is all about—connection, creativity, and a little bit of fun along the way. ❤️

🎉 105 years young! What a celebration! 🎉

We were honoured to celebrate Christina Giannakis’ 105th birthday at St Basil’s Croydon Park this week — a truly special milestone surrounded by family, friends and our wonderful community.

Christina continues to inspire us all with her secret to a long and happy life:

✨ “Keeping active, fasting, faith and having love for everyone.”

Her warmth, resilience and positivity remind us what it truly means to live well.

A heartfelt thank you to Channel 7 for featuring Christina in their Ray of Sunshine segment on 7NEWS Adelaide and for joining us to capture and share this beautiful story with the wider community.

💙 What a wonderful time we had at our recent Meet and Greet events! 💙

It was fantastic to come together with residents and families to connect face‑to‑face, share stories, enjoy plenty of laughter, and have some really meaningful conversations. These events offered a great opportunity to hear feedback, exchange ideas, and strengthen the relationships that make our St Basil’s community so special.

We also appreciated the chance to hear from our Board, with an update shared by the Chair of the Resident Experience Committee, and to enjoy a tasting of our upcoming Dining Experience menu — a highlight for many on the night!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such positive and engaging evenings. We look forward to hosting more opportunities like this and continuing these important conversations together.

From our home to yours, we’re wishing our residents, families and friends a very Happy Easter filled with love, reflection and time together.

A special thank you to our incredible staff who don’t always get the chance to take a break. Your dedication and care mean so much to our community.

If you’re travelling over the long weekend, please stay safe on the roads.

We’re also looking forward to celebrating Greek Orthodox Easter next weekend and sharing more special moments together.

This week our St Basil’s community celebrated Greek National Day together at Croydon Park, St Peters and our Plateia program.

Events included Greek cultural activities, traditional Greek food, live music and of course dancing!

A very big thank you to Dr Alexandra Theodoropoulou, the Consulate-General of Greece, Adelaide and community organisations that supported these events, including Adelaide High School students.

Today is Tsiknopempti 'Smokey Thursday', where our residents and Plateia participants enjoyed delicious charcoal BBQs and shared celebrations.

Our Plateia program is up and running for 2026 and we recently held a New Year’s Blessing and cutting of the Vasilopita to celebrate!
