On Sunday 20 September, swap the scrubs for your runners and join Team Craniofacial Australia at the Adelaide City to Bay.

As future surgeons and healthcare professionals, you’ll play an important role in improving the lives of patients. Here’s an opportunity to make a difference even before graduation.

By joining Team Cranio, you’ll be helping raise vital funds to support children and families living with cleft and craniofacial conditions through patient support, research and education.

The Annual Suture Night hosted by the Flinders University Surgical Society is back—bigger, sharper, and more immersive than ever.

Kick off the evening with an exclusive 30-minute presentation from Professor Nicola Dean, a leader in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Gain insight into real-world surgical practice, decision-making in the theatre, and the finesse behind precision techniques.

Then, step into the role of the surgeon. In a fully interactive, small-group setting, you’ll be guided through a range of essential suturing techniques by Professor Dean alongside a team of experienced doctors. Whether you’re picking up a needle holder for the first time or refining your skills, this is your chance to build confidence, technique, and clinical precision in a supportive environment.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our Craniofacial Charity Cocktail night and helped make the evening so special. We’re incredibly grateful for the generosity, support, and community spirit shown throughout the night. 🫶🏽

A special thank you to our speakers Dr. Ben Grave and Damian for sharing their inspiring insights into the incredible, life-changing work being done in craniofacial surgery.

Together, we raised over $2000 for Craniofacial Australia! 😳🥹 Every contribution will help support children and families impacted by craniofacial conditions. Thank you for being part of something so meaningful.

Charity and community engagement are something that we as the Flinders University Surgical Society are passionate about. Three years ago we decided to revive the Charity Cocktail event and have partnered with Craniofacial Australia since. This is one of my most cherished events each year and I highly anticipate the ability to work with such an amazing organization. We had an amazing turn out for the bake sale last Friday and this Friday we will be having our Charity Cocktail event. If you are not able to attend please consider donating via our GoFundMe. We look forward to another successful year of fundraising for such a unique and caring foundation.
