✨ What you spend your time on is a reflection of what you value. ✨
Have you ever noticed that when you have no time, somehow you just get s**t done?
Give yourself an hour and suddenly you’re focused.
✅ Emails answered
✅ House tidy
✅ Errands done
✅ Decisions made
Give yourself a day and somehow that same list takes so much longer.
Parkinson’s Law describes the phenomenon that we expand our tasks to fill the time available. ⏳
But there’s another layer.
We don’t just manage our time based on what needs to get done.
We manage it based on what we VALUE.
If exercise is important to you, you’ll find a way to fit it in. 💪
If family is a priority, you’ll protect that time.
If your career matters, you’ll make time for your personal development.
Sometimes our values compete.
We might value health, but in that moment, family wins. Work wins. Something else wins.
Because, right now, we value it more.
There’s another layer:
✨ How much do you value efficiency and organisation? ✨
If you value efficiency, you’ll look for ways to simplify, organise and get things done.
If you don’t, you may procrastinate, overcomplicate things or spend time on tasks that don’t actually move you forward.
That impacts your output.
Two people with the same 24 hours, the same responsibilities and the same goals producing completely different results based on how they used their time.
Which brings me back to something I hear all the time:
✨I don’t have time to exercise✨
Maybe you genuinely don’t have an hour…. Or 20 minutes… Or even 10 minutes.
But the question isn’t:
✨Do I have time?✨
It’s:
✨Is this important enough for me to make time for?✨
Because your calendar tells you a lot about what you VALUE.
Not what you SAY you value.
What you MAKE TIME for.
And this is where YOUR wellbeing matters.
Because one day, you will look back on your life and reflect on what actually mattered.
Will it be all the extra hours you worked?
All those emails you answered?
The perfect house?
Or the time you spent with the people you loved, the time you spent looking after your health, experiencing life and being present for it?
So, don’t wait until the end of your life to realise what was important.
Make time for it now.
🫶 Keep what’s important, IMPORTANT.🤍
