When walking is a challenge🚷
Gait training is for anyone struggling to walk safely or independently due to injury, illness, or surgery. It’s not just about “walking more”—it’s about improving how you move: your posture, balance, step length, and safety.
Who can benefit?
✅ Neurological conditions: Stroke, Parkinson’s, MS, Cerebral Palsy, or brain/spinal injuries
✅ Recovery: Post-op or musculoskeletal injuries
✅ Stability: Those facing falls, weakness, dizziness, or age-related decline
✅Mobility aids: Learning to use walkers, crutches, orthotics, or prosthetics
At Enable, we take a team approach. Our physios identify gait mechanics and safety risks (like limping or instability), while our Exercise Physiologists focus on the functional strengthening, coordination, and endurance needed to get you back into the community.
When to start:
If you tire quickly, feel unsteady, or want to regain your independence, we can help. Training involves everything from balance and treadmill work to tackling stairs and uneven surfaces.
Chat to your clinician to see if gait training should be part of your therapy mix. 👣
