At a recent 3-month review, one of our newest team members shared something that stopped us in our tracks:

This one made our whole team smile. 😄💙

One of the people we support has always had a very special bond with their regular support worker. So when that worker goes on leave, trying someone new? Not a chance. And that's completely okay — we respect that, always.

But recently, our amazing A*O team had a gentle conversation. No pressure. Just warmth, reassurance, and a whole lot of trust built over time.

And this person decided to give it a go. ✨

The shift was fantastic.

And the moment it was over — they picked up the phone and called our team themselves to share just how well it had gone.

Happy tears in the office. 🙂

Not only that — they are now excited and ready to welcome more support workers into their team. A door that was once closed has opened, and it happened because the right people took the time to build the right kind of trust.

Starting right from our Seaton Hub, you'll learn to use actual Adelaide Metro routes:

🚌 Bus 110 from Grange Road
🚃 The Grange Line from Seaton Park Station all the way to the CBD and West Lakes

Step by step, session by session, you'll build the kind of independence that changes everything:

Have you ever wanted to feel more confident getting around your community on your own? Catching the bus. Planning a trip. Knowing where to go and how to get there safely?

That's exactly what Social Navigation is all about 💪

This fully supported, community-based program teaches you real, practical skills for getting out and about in Adelaide — using actual Adelaide Metro routes right from our Seaton Hub:

That's what a Rise & Shine mentor is.

Not just a support worker. A trusted person in your corner who gets to know the real you — your goals, your worries, your humour, your strengths — and walks alongside you as you grow into more of who you already are.

Over the past 16 months we've watched people do things they never thought they could:

🎨 Monday nights just got a whole lot more creative!

Every Monday from 5–7pm, our Art & Hobby Group meets at the United Abilities HUB in Seaton — and it's one of our favourite nights of the week ❤️

Here's how it works — and we love how simple it is:

🖌️ Bring your own project — knitting, drawing, painting, model building, whatever you love

🎭 Or try one of ours — we always have activities ready to go if you want to give something new a go

☕ Then just talk, discuss, share and enjoy — no pressure, no performance, just good company and creativity

It doesn't matter if you're a seasoned artist or have never picked up a paintbrush in your life. This group is about showing up, being yourself, and spending two hours doing something that makes you feel good 😊

You might come in quiet and leave having made a new friend. You might discover a hobby you didn't know you loved. Or you might just enjoy a couple of peaceful, creative hours in a space where you truly belong ✨
