Our people are everything. And this is proof. πŸ’™

At a recent 3-month review, one of our newest team members shared something that stopped us in our tracks:

β€œI have felt comfortable from day one and believe this is due to the quick response from admin when I am uncertain about any issues. The communication between admin and support staff is one of the best I have experienced in my working life.”

Wow. πŸ™

This didn't happen by accident. It happened because every single person at United Abilities β€” from our admin team to our support workers to our leadership β€” has made a choice, every single day, to build something worth belonging to.

We believe that when our team feel valued, supported, and heard β€” that energy flows straight through to the people we support. You can't separate the two. Happy, confident support workers create safe, joyful, supported people. It really is that simple.

So to our incredible admin team β€” thank you. The way you show up for our support workers matters more than you know. πŸ’›

And to our newest team member β€” welcome to the United Abilities family. We are so glad you're here. ✨

If you're a support worker looking for a team that actually has your back β€” we'd love to hear from you.

This one made our whole team smile. πŸ˜„πŸ’™

One of the people we support has always had a very special bond with their regular support worker. So when that worker goes on leave, trying someone new? Not a chance. And that's completely okay β€” we respect that, always.

But recently, our amazing A*O team had a gentle conversation. No pressure. Just warmth, reassurance, and a whole lot of trust built over time.

And this person decided to give it a go. ✨

The shift was fantastic.

And the moment it was over β€” they picked up the phone and called our team themselves to share just how well it had gone.

Happy tears in the office. πŸ™‚

Not only that β€” they are now excited and ready to welcome more support workers into their team. A door that was once closed has opened, and it happened because the right people took the time to build the right kind of trust.

To our A*O team β€” your patience, care, and genuine love for the people you support made this happen. πŸ’›

To SW2 β€” you walked into a tough shift and absolutely nailed it. We are so proud of you.

And to the person who took that brave step and then shared their joy with us β€” thank you. You made our day. You make this whole thing worthwhile. ❀️

This is United Abilities. This is why we do what we do.

πŸšƒ Imagine catching the bus on your own for the very first time.

Knowing exactly which stop to get off at. Tapping your Metrocard. Walking into the city β€” or down to the beach at West Lakes β€” because YOU planned it and YOU made it happen.

That moment? That's what Social Navigation is all about ❀️

Our Social Navigation program is opening for expressions of interest right now β€” kicking off the week of 20 July 2026 β€” and it's one of the most practical, real-world programs we offer.

No textbooks. No roleplay. Just you, your support worker, and the real Adelaide community πŸ’ͺ

Starting right from our Seaton Hub, you'll learn to use actual Adelaide Metro routes:

🚌 Bus 288 from Tapleys Hill Road
🚌 Bus 110 from Grange Road
πŸšƒ The Grange Line from Seaton Park Station all the way to the CBD and West Lakes

Step by step, session by session, you'll build the kind of independence that changes everything:

🌟 Planning your own journey
🌟 Handling your own payments
🌟 Knowing what to do when things don't go to plan
🌟 Moving through your community with your head held high
🌟 Needing a little less help β€” and feeling proud of every step

Because independence isn't just a goal in your NDIS plan.
It's catching that bus. It's arriving somewhere and thinking β€” I did that. ✨

Places are LIMITED for our July intake β€” don't miss out!

🌞 What does it feel like to finally back yourself?

To walk into a room and feel like you belong there. To speak up when it matters. To try something new without the fear of getting it wrong holding you back.

For a lot of the people in our Rise & Shine Mentoring program, those moments don't happen overnight. They happen because someone showed up. Week after week. Conversation after conversation. Quietly, consistently saying β€” I believe in you. πŸ’™

That's what a Rise & Shine mentor is.

Not just a support worker. A trusted person in your corner who gets to know the real you β€” your goals, your worries, your humour, your strengths β€” and walks alongside you as you grow into more of who you already are.

Over the past 16 months we've watched people do things they never thought they could:

✨ Speak up for themselves for the very first time
✨ Land a job or start a course they'd been dreaming about
✨ Build routines that make their days feel manageable and their own
✨ Face hard situations with a confidence they didn't know they had
✨ Look in the mirror and see someone capable staring back

Small wins. Big wins. All of them real. All of them earned.

Rise & Shine is available under NDIS, and sessions are completely flexible β€” arranged around you, your mentor, and your NDIS plan.

If you or someone you love is ready for that kind of support, we would love to hear from you ❀️

🎨 Monday nights just got a whole lot more creative!

Every Monday from 5–7pm, our Art & Hobby Group meets at the United Abilities HUB in Seaton β€” and it's one of our favourite nights of the week ❀️

Here's how it works β€” and we love how simple it is:

πŸ–ŒοΈ Bring your own project β€” knitting, drawing, painting, model building, whatever you love

🎭 Or try one of ours β€” we always have activities ready to go if you want to give something new a go

β˜• Then just talk, discuss, share and enjoy β€” no pressure, no performance, just good company and creativity

It doesn't matter if you're a seasoned artist or have never picked up a paintbrush in your life. This group is about showing up, being yourself, and spending two hours doing something that makes you feel good 😊

You might come in quiet and leave having made a new friend. You might discover a hobby you didn't know you loved. Or you might just enjoy a couple of peaceful, creative hours in a space where you truly belong ✨

πŸ“Œ Every Monday | 5–7pm
πŸ“ United Abilities HUB, Seaton

Spots are available β€” we'd love to see you there!

Four words that define how we support every person at United Abilities. πŸ’™

Do with. Not for.

We guide. We support. We stand beside them.

Because real independence only comes from doing it yourself ✨

This is the beating heart of our Rise & Shine Mentoring program. And honestly? It's harder than just doing it for someone. It takes patience. It takes belief. It takes a mentor who can sit with the discomfort of watching someone struggle β€” and trust that the struggle is where the growth happens.

Our Rise & Shine mentors don't show up to take over. They show up to cheer, to guide, to ask the right questions, and to be there when things get hard β€” without taking the wheel.

And the results speak for themselves.

People who started Rise & Shine not believing they could do much of anything have gone on to:

🌟 Make their own decisions with real confidence
🌟 Land jobs and start courses they once only dreamed about
🌟 Handle everyday life with less help than ever before
🌟 Surprise their families β€” and themselves β€” with what they're capable of

That's not us doing it for them.
That's them β€” with someone incredible standing beside them. πŸ’ͺ

Rise & Shine Mentoring is available with NDIS funding across Adelaide. Flexible sessions arranged around you and your NDIS plan.
