Daily Living Supports are all about the everyday things that build real independence β€” getting ready in the morning, cooking a meal, managing the home.

Small routines, practised together, add up to big confidence. 🏑

Thank you to Lili, one of our fantastic United Abilities support workers, for jumping straight into the hydro pool with the person she was supporting! 🌊

Having someone in the water with them makes such a difference β€” engagement goes up significantly when a support worker is right there alongside, not just watching from the edge.

And to top it off, Lili picked up this shift at the very last minute (with the person's permission) and didn't hesitate to make a splash (literally!) πŸ˜„

This is exactly the kind of above-and-beyond effort we love seeing from our team β€” showing up, jumping in, and making sure the people we support have the best experience possible.

Thank you, Lili, for your dedication and always being willing to go the extra mile! πŸ’™

The person he was supporting has been working hard towards a big goal: getting a job. Andrew knew that looking the part can make all the difference walking into an interview β€” so he turned up to his support shift dressed for the occasion, to show exactly what "interview ready" looks like in practice.

Together, they went through his wardrobe and picked out a nice outfit. With plenty of encouragement (and more than a few pep talks along the way! πŸ˜„), this person found the confidence to submit his resume to the business he really wants to work at β€” a real, tangible step towards the job he's been working towards.

This is what great mentoring looks like: not just showing up, but showing someone what's possible. Employment outcomes for people with disability don't happen by accident β€” they happen because someone like our mentor, Andrew, goes above and beyond, session after session.

AMAZING work, Andrew β€” thank you for always going the extra mile for our clients! πŸ’™
