CARER SUPPORT IN REMOTE QUEENSLAND

Connecting with our communities is at the heart of what we do! 💛💙🧡

The NWRH Central West Carer Gateway team recently travelled to Blackall to deliver vital Carer Support services and raise awareness about the support available for dedicated carers in the region.

Our Carer Support Officer, Liam, reported a fantastic day meeting locals and visitors alike. A huge thank you to the lovely team at the Blackall Lifestyle and Community Hub for their wonderful support in making this visit a success!

If you or someone you know is in a caregiving role, reach out to see how we can help you on your journey.

🎨 Creative Break for Our Local Carers! 🏺

Our NWRH Central West Carer Support Officer, Liam, recently coordinated a fantastic Handmade Pottery class for local Carers under the Carer Gateway IPPS program.

Hosted by Heather Hale (Coordinator at Longreach Arts and Crafts), our Carers created some incredible clay pieces and enjoyed a guided tour of the beautiful Gallery.

Taking time out for yourself is so important. These social activities are a wonderful way for Carers to enjoy a well-deserved break, connect with others, and learn new skills.

Want to join the fun? 🙌

If you would like to take part in FREE activities like this pottery class or our Chair Yoga sessions, we would love to have you!

📞 Get in touch: Contact Liam in our Longreach office today on 07 4652 7100.

On behalf of the NWRH Mornington Island team we'd like to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to the NDIA team for recently visiting and for their amazing collaboration throughout the outreach visit🧡💙💛

It was great to see community members, families and services come together in such a positive and welcoming space. From the community BBQ breakfast to face-to-face participant check-ins, planning meetings and support for families, the visit was a strong example of what can be achieved when services work together for community🫶

We’re incredibly proud of our team and grateful for the opportunity to support meaningful connections and improve access for local participants and families.

All of us at NWRH are looking forward to continuing the partnership and building stronger pathways of support across Mornington Island✨
