🌟 Meet the Team! 🌟

This week, we’re introducing Rachel, our Services Coordinator at Can Do Albany! 💙 As the first point of contact for our clients and families, Rachel works behind the scenes (and very often at the end of the phone!) coordinating supports, welcoming new participants and helping to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Rachel holds a Bachelor of Psychology and is currently continuing her studies through the University of Adelaide, completing an Advanced Diploma of Psychology. She’s also a qualified Personal Trainer and a St John First Responder – so it’s probably fair to say she likes keeping busy!

Outside of work and study, Rachel loves baking, reading and hiking, but most of all, spending time with her kids. ❤️

💃 Rachel’s fun fact: She’s a champion Irish dancer and has the trophies to prove it! After many years of competing, she amassed quite the collection – although these days, you’re far more likely to find her in hiking boots than dancing shoes!

We’re so lucky to have Rachel keeping everything ticking along at Can Do Albany! Her passion for people, psychology and supporting our participants and families makes her a very valued part of the Can Do team. 💙

🌟 Meet the Team! 🌟

This week, we’re introducing Luke, one of the fantastic mentors at Can Do Albany! 💙 With a qualification in Community Services and a keen interest in understanding people, Luke is embarking on his university journey studying an undergraduate degree in Psychology, bringing curiosity, creativity and a genuine passion for supporting others to his role.

Outside of mentoring, Luke is a big fan of gaming, technology, 3D printing and design. Whether he’s exploring the latest tech, creating something from scratch or putting his design skills to work, Luke always enjoys finding out how things work and what he can create!

🛠️ Luke’s fun fact: 3D printing has become a surprisingly useful dad skill! As a dad to three daughters, Luke can reverse-engineer and 3D print replacement parts when the kids inevitably break something. 😂

When asked what he enjoys most about his role, Luke says: “The best thing about my job is building genuine relationships with the people I support. I enjoy getting to know each person and seeing their confidence grow.”

We’re so lucky to have you on the team, Luke! Your creativity, curiosity and genuine approach make you a fantastic part of Can Do Albany. 💙

🌟 Meet the Team! 🌟

This week, we’re introducing Rebecca, one of the wonderful mentors at Can Do Albany! Alongside her mentoring role, Rebecca is the driving force behind our Employ-Ability group, bringing energy, creativity and a real business-dynamo spirit to everything she does. 🚀

A qualified pastry chef and chocolatier, Rebecca brings a deliciously creative touch to the team! When she’s not supporting our young participants, you might find her making chocolate, running or sculpting.

🐝 Rebecca’s fun fact: she has a love for beekeeping and all-things-honey! 🐝

When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Rebecca says: “The best thing about my job is supporting young people, watching them grow and being part of their journey towards their goals.”

We’re so lucky to have you on the team, Rebecca, and we love the passion, creativity and encouragement you bring to Can Do Albany 💙

🌿 Thriving Minds – Mindfulness Group for 6–9 Year Olds 🌿

We’re excited to launch Thriving Minds, a small-group mindfulness program designed especially for children aged 6–9.

🗓 Tuesdays 3:30–4:30pm
📅 Starting Tuesday 24th February
⏳ 16-week program (excluding school holidays)

Through fun, engaging activities, children will learn practical tools to manage big feelings, improve focus, and build positive friendships.

Using evidence-based approaches from neuroscience and positive psychology, each session includes calming practices like deep belly breathing and focused listening.

In today’s busy world, Thriving Minds helps children slow down, build confidence, and develop the social and emotional skills they need to thrive, in the classroom and beyond.

Limited spots available. Get in touch to enrol! ✨
