Today is Earth Day, and it feels like the world could use a little extra care right now.
In the middle of tough times, it’s the small, steady things that matter most - looking after our spaces, our community, and each other.
Small actions. Done often. Still matter 🌏

Dear parents and guardians - we see you.
There’s no manual.
And even if there was, your child would’ve skipped to the last page and argued with it.
Our Parent Capacity Sessions help you make sense of behaviour, find the right words when things get tricky, and build strategies that actually work in your real life.
Less guessing.
More confidence.

At WHR Allied Health, we know progress often lives in the details, the routines, the transitions, the moments that don’t always get noticed. That’s where our team focuses. By paying attention to the small things, we’re able to support meaningful change in real life, for real people.

Introducing Trista McConville — Finance & Community Relations.
With a background in Finance Management and Advertising, Trista joined the team in 2023, when she returned to the Southern Hemisphere from London with her hubby and 2 children
Somewhere along the way, she found her passion in the neurodiversity space - and completed her ADHD coaching certification last year. Trista brings flair, creativity and an unmatched passion to everything she does at WHR AH. With lived experience of neurodiversity, her vision of a world that supports and embraces all our strengths and differences makes her an incredible team member.
If you’re lucky enough to talk to Trista in person or on the phone you are guaranteed to have a laugh!

Throughout the year, we’ll be introducing you to different members of our team.

We’re here because the work matters.
We’re here because the team matters.
We’re here because doing this alone would be a terrible idea.

Scooter trials on the trail
Rain doesn’t decide
One trial, one trail at a time

The real test isn’t necessarily about the scooter, it’s everything around it.
Weather, terrain, attention, confidence.
Trialling in real life is where the magic (and the learning) actually happens.

If someone isn’t meeting the expectation, it’s not always an ability or motivation problem.
Sometimes it’s a support problem.
Clarity. Capacity. Tools. Time.
Miss one of those, and even the most capable people will struggle.
That’s where we can come in:
breaking things down, building skills, and putting the right supports in place so expectations actually become achievable.

Jett has been part of the WHR crew for almost five years now, and he is, quite simply, a remarkable human.
He brings a calm, grounded presence to everything he does - the kind that instantly puts people at ease. But behind that relaxed demeanour is an incredibly organised, thoughtful clinician who is deeply devoted to his clients and his work.
The steady stream of positive feedback we receive from both clients and colleagues speaks volumes. He shows up, does the work, and makes a genuine difference.

Throughout the year, we’ll be sharing little snapshots of the humans behind WHR - including anonymous reflections from teammates who know them best.

👉 Flick through to see what the team has to say about Jett, and on the final slide, hear a bit from Jett himself.

I’ve never liked the word “normal.”
It suggests there’s a single, correct way to be a person - and in all the people I’ve met in life and in my work, I’ve never seen that to be true.
Humans come in all sorts of brains, bodies, personalities, and ways of moving through the world. Some loud, some quiet, some fast, some thoughtful, some who fit systems easily, and some who absolutely don’t.

And isn’t that lovely? Doesn’t it keep things interesting?

I also grew up reading Leo the Lop, who taught me something that stuck:
normal is whatever you are.
And honestly, I still think that’s about right.

We’re big believers in communities pitching in together.
At Messy Play, little ones get the chance to explore colours, textures and sensory play in a fun, welcoming space - while parents connect with others in the community.
WHR Allied Health provides the OT support, and Torquay Community House provides the space, with just a small fee to cover materials.
Find out more about Messy Play and see what else is happening at

One of the best things about being an OT is getting to help people reconnect with the things that make them feel most like themselves.
The ocean has always been a big part of this legend’s life, so being able to support her back onto the sand - and into the water - was pretty special.
Huge thanks to the incredible team at (GORCAPA)and for providing the beach wheelchair that made it possible.
Moments like this are exactly why we love what we do.
Sometimes the goal isn’t complicated - it’s just getting someone back to the sea.
