When Julie Rooks contacted me to take images of her business, we decided to showcase a ‘weekend in Rutherglen’ so rather than just BnB pics of the cottage, we wanted to tell a story
Foundry Cottage has one bedroom which is perfect if you’re solo and want some peace or a couple looking for some quiet time
The back yard is awesome for morning or arvo sips, plus, the cottage has a treatment room for massages and as Julie is a local yoga teacher, you can also arrange a private session out on the grass and under the trees
Take a ride on two wheels and get around the local sights
The spa bath is a brilliant way to soothe your stress and you can stick on the jets to pummel your muscles too
𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗴. 𝗰𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘄 serves up your morning brew and brunch snacks ready to set you on your day
Window shopping or spending your wallet, there are plenty of places to ease your mind and some savings in the area
Beautiful old pubs and heritage built businesses line the main street, giving you choices for meals and places to meet up
Stroll the quiet streets and see the sights, the Rutherglen W**e Bottle is at the end of the street and this historic water tower is a perfect way to to see the district from the top viewing area
On the edge of town is Hopetoun Grove Rutherglen which showcases w**e from the families w**ery and of course olive oil and the many different varieties and tastes they offer
A lush platter is a brilliant way to stay and enjoy an afternoon and taste the oils. You can purchase bottles of olive oil from the cellar door too, a great way to remember your time in the area
Julie Rooks and partner Anthony are your hosts. You can book Foundry Cottage from the usual online booking sites and as they are locals, will help your time in Rutherglen be a comfortable one as well as a memorable!
