There were dance classes, free movement classes, exercise classes, a disco and lots of wandering choices to keep everyone active and engaged.

The gathering of women in action, contemplation and celebration is a beauty to behold!

I had the honour of photographing the Victorian outing of the Ultimate Women’s Weekend in February for the Bohemian Summer Festival and it was a 3 days of camping, food, coffee, hot sun, torrential rain and lots and lots of precious hearts.

Given the opportunity to be with each other, women are clear to reveal their desire to feel safe and enjoy time for their own wellbeing. It’s is a gift that festivals like this exist for the benefit of women who can attend, as they are embraced for who they are and guided through new experiences!

Being outside and spending time with the nature ancestor spirits does a whole lot a good for my personal system of operation!

This is a quiet little area in the Strathbogie ranges. Nearly 25 years ago I used to drive once a week out to this place from Mansfield to teach a yoga class. The road was windy and rough, nothing has changed on that front. I’d see giant koalas and imagine the bushrangers who used to roam the hills and hide amongst the boulders. Even though it’s close to civilisation, it is such a raw part of the bush.

Polly McQuinns is on the side towards Euroa and is named after a settler who drowned at the site. Legend has it that the ghost appears every seven years on a moonlit night, but whether she does or not, her memory is carried by her name.

Anyway, if you’re like me, time spent in places like this renews my resolve to take another step forward!

Ahhh the light that shines its glory on what translates to peace, these representations of Sunday’s session at are extraordinary.

The live deliveries of divine and mesmerising mantras and melodies leave me completely spellbound. I’m a participant to hearing the translations as much as I am the interpreter of the sounds as they move through me.

We will all be raising the love present in our hearts with the sound of mantra, listening to the ways breath expands in different directions within the body ignited with mudra and be blessed with deep rest as mantras sound like lullabies, soothing our nature of peace!

Here’s a snapshot of what I captured at GROUNDEDLive at Dookie Quarry.

Such a celebration of carefree living. Folk attended for the gathering opportunity to listen and see and dance and enjoy live music. What they also did was get fresh air, laugh, mingle and soak up some good ol’ Australian vibes.

I poked my head out of the pocket of the nth east I’m usually bound to and headed to the Goulburn Valley.

Dookie, usually known for the agricultural college where farming folk are at the fore, this time the quarry took centre stage. Wow, what a place! Whilst it’s a privately owned area, the festival I went to photograph yesterday was held there and it is just absolutely stunning.

Its environment is raw and rugged, desolate and contained and completely inviting and nurturing in its elements. I look forward to sharing some of the experience.

We’ll be harmonising our hearts with sound, following the path of the breath’s movement with mudras and meditation and relishing a long Savasana during which a live soundscape of mantra will fill the air, the element of flow. Finishing up with snacks and chai!

Have you booked your place to attend this session in just a few weeks?

Together we will visit the sounds of our heart through simple chanting. This has a remarkable impact on how we feel within ourselves, offering a unique respite from noise as we follow the breath to create harmonious resounding joy.

After attuning ourselves through sound and breath, we will use mudras to focus in on the directions the breath/air element, takes as it journeys with purpose throughout our internal system.

This meditation prepares us for the next stage of our time together. During Savasana an opportunity avails itself to calm the senses to towards peace whilst being lulled to safe surrender. Gentle mantras will permeate towards the core of who we are, love.

Out time together concludes with warm chai and snacks, ensuring a full body experience of joyful union.
